Seems like a phenomenal way to reserve that kind of white collar job for people whose parents had money and could go to good schools etc., both primary/secondary and college.  If that's the goal, then yeah - makes perfect sense.  I don't think that should be the goal though.

Saying that college should be affordable does not imply that everyone should go to college, nor that we should not expand our manufacturing base. Quite the opposite. Apple has 164,000 employees. The vast majority of them are not in Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, or Finance. Most of them are in retail, making pretty decent wages - *because* of the people in Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales and Finance.

My statement - which has never changed - is that we want people to be able to follow the path that best suits their ability, and if we close certain doors to certain parts of the population, that won't happen, and we'll end up with stupid people like Q97 trying to run the show.

I didn't call the top then, I said it was a good time to sell, which it was since it went straight up... I loaded the boat back up at the end of 2022 and bought a bunch more so I'm doing ok thanks for askin :)

I starting learning about computers in 1985 when my dad bought a Tandy 1000 (from Radio Shack lol) but I was a tad young then to think about my career prospects lol
