Hardly anyone in the real world is really outraged over any of this shit. It’s almost all manufactured outrage propagated on the internet and social media. And trolling to keep the culture war as hot as it can be.

I live in a mixed conservative/champagne liberal exurban area in the upland south (bible belt) and literally no one I encounter is worried about what trans and gay people are doing except the champagne liberals who are concerned we aren’t celebrating them enough.

I actually find this explanation of your point reasonable; but until we don’t have people trying to legislate gay and trans people into 2nd class citizenship, I still have to disagree with it. I agree with the larger point that it’s the fringe that are pushing it, unfortunately that sells with more than just the fringe.

Several of those bible belt states have banned gender affirming care and drag queen story hours. Do you think your experience is just because you don't encounter legislators?

The trans suicide rate is certainly far more complicated than a lack of access to “gender affirming care” but we aren’t allowed to talk about the inherent mental issues that accompany dysphoria of any kind, we are just supposed to go along with it.

I also remember a distinct lack of compassion from you and others here for the suicidal spike due to Covid lockdowns. So get the fuck out of here with your selective performative concern.
