Bernie Moreno hit the nail on the head. Abortion is a bullshit issue. The Democrats needed to win on the economy and oh by the way with any power they could muster deal with abortion. It was a bigger issue in 2022 because it was a recent issue, but now everyone has adjusted. He said "if you're a 55 year old woman, what do you care?" And if you're a woman of any age in most of the swing states, what do you care?" It's only women in Missistuckybamexas that have to worry. And only the women who don't have the money to hop on a plane to Vegas to get an abortion. In the short term, the issue has heft but our attention spans are short.
The only issue that ever matters is are you worried about money. And Trump is *awful* on that issue. But the Democrats fucked it up anyway and the narrative for months was Trump wasn't staying on point and sticking to his *strength*

I go out to get dinner and it's freaking nuts how much higher stuff costs. I'm not sure if it's especially bad here in the Bay Area, because when we go to the Ozarks, all I can think "jesus christ these groceries are free" because the price dynamic between the richest part of the country and one of the poorest is very high - so I can't really tell if the price vs 4 years ago is particularly higher in Missouri. I do know that if I hadn't gotten hit on the head by the money fairy I would be pretty freaked out by the new normal. I understand that - you all can give me that whole "man of the people" shit but I don't have a car and take the train and buses everywhere so I end up talking to a lot of people who are really scraping by. We had a 2nd car we never used and I gave it to my gardener, and he was like he just hit the lottery and I'm thinking "this is a 2003 Pilot, wtf dude".
The democrats should just jettison all the cultural stuff as campaign issues entirely. Don't even bring them up at all. If the GOP talks about men in women's sports just say "that's something that congress is definitely going to have to look at!" What are you gonna do, convince the LGBTQ community to vote for the GOP by saying that?
Anyone who knows what the fuck "facism" is - you already have their vote anyway. Just hammer on the economy. Donald Trump didn't know what the fuck he was doing when we got hit with a pandemic, fucked everything up, and it took us 3 years to get it marginally under control because he's such a fucking moron. So yeah, there was inflation. And now the inflation is gone but the damage he caused is done. We did the best we can after he threw a nuclear bomb into our economy.
And now he wants to destroy the US economy with tariffs.
