I would call disaster relief a pretty large social safety net, which is definitely a tenet of socialism.

It’s just not what you think it is. It’s become bastardized to primarily mean a social safety net when it actually primarily means state owned means of production.  I’m not saying Florida isn’t benefiting from aid, I’m just saying it isn’t socialism.

Then call it welfare and not socialism.  Just because a political structure has a tenet(s) that aligns with what you’re saying doesn’t mean it’s appropriate to call it something it’s—by definition—not.

Government expenditures to help citizens isn’t unique to socialism. It has nothing to do with state or collective means of ownership of means of production. And all the articles you posted are just using the bastard politicized version I already pointed out.
