Texas didn't cut the razor wire that Texas put up at the border.
Texas didn't go to court to stop the curtailment efforts of Texas at the border.

The Supreme Court agreed it it was illegal.

Quote
In at least one instance, according to the Justice Department, an agent “saw an ‘unconscious subject floating on top of the water,’ but was ‘unable to retrieve or render aid to the subject due to the concertina wire barrier placed along the riverbank.’”
-- Vox

I assume that happened before the court ruled agents could cut the wire barrier?

Quote
"We do not consider concertina wire to be effective. It impairs Customs and Border Protection's ability to do its job, and we're also seeing migrants rather easily cutting concertina wire," Mayorkas told a group of reporters who attended a roundtable on Friday at Homeland Security (DHS) headquarters in Washington.

Who took it to the Supreme Court and why ?

Too many people died trying to cross the river to get their Biden phones, their Biden transportation, their Biden hotel room and their Biden food.

Mayorkas also said ...........
the border was secure.

Where are the 300,000+ kids ?
Why is the Massachussetts Gov now saying that she supports the ICE removals done so far ?

Google.

Try reading from mainstream and left wing sources in addition to your right sources. Then you can get a balanced perspective on that.

What Texas did was illegal, ineffective, and dangerous.

Yes. I believe documented facts.

I am confident the previous admin did not invite a surge to intentionally overload a broken broken border and immigration system. I can not imagine why they would even want to do that. I am not buying the census or replacement theories.

They certainly invited a surge. I guess the guy who was VP from 2009-2017 and other Democrats doing the inviting weren’t aware that the border and immigration system was broken.

Several Biden administration efforts went to the courts and were struck down. The execution of their border plan was a failure and dangerous.

You keep tossing out red herrings and moving the goal posts.

It was better than zero tolerance, remain in Mexico, and a poorly constructed wall.

At my age, that becomes meaningless.

https://www.bostonherald.com/2025/01/21/editorial-trumps-deportation-plans-align-with-views-of-clinton-obama/

Quote
The anti-Trump vitriol on illegal immigration is so strong, one would think he is the first president to take such a stand.

He isn’t.

“All Americans … are rightly disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country. The jobs they hold might otherwise be held by citizens or legal immigrants. The public service they use impose burdens on our taxpayers. That’s why our administration has moved aggressively to secure our borders more by hiring a record number of new border guards, by deporting twice as many criminal aliens as ever before, by cracking down on illegal hiring, by barring welfare benefits to illegal aliens.”

Those words were spoken by former President Bill Clinton during his 1995 State of the Union address.

Ten years later a fellow Democrat said this: “We are a generous and welcoming people here in the United States. But those who enter the country illegally and those who employ them disrespect the rule of law and they are showing disregard for those who are following the law.

“We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked, and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently and lawfully to become immigrants into this country.”

That was then-Senator Barack Obama in 2005.

Back then dangerous gangs such as Tren de Aragua weren’t making headlines in the U.S. for terrorizing communities, yet Clinton and Obama recognized the threat of criminal illegal immigrants and the need to protect our country.

Trump, as he noted in his speech, plans to designate cartels as foreign terrorist organizations and use the Alien Enemies Act to remove them.

A new poll by the New York Times and Ipsos found that 55%  of Americans surveyed either strongly or somewhat support Trump’s proposed mass deportations.

So when sanctuary cities do whatever they can to prevent ICE from deporting illegal immigrants, who are they speaking for? Their neighboring communities who struggle to absorb a migrant population thrust upon them, or the immigrants themselves who live in fear of sexual predators staying in shelters?

Is the idea of deportation anathema to sanctuary cities because they don’t believe immigration laws are important, or simply because this time around, Donald Trump is the one enforcing them?

GOP Candidates Reject Ronald Reagan's Immigration Vision

“I believe in the idea of amnesty for those who have put down roots and lived here, even though sometime back they may have entered illegally,” Reagan said in 1984.

"Rather than talking about putting up a fence, why don't we work out some recognition of our mutual problems, make it possible for them to come here legally with a work permit?" he said during the 1980 Republican primary debate.

The [1986]  law granted amnesty to nearly 3 million illegal immigrants, yet was largely considered unsuccessful because the strict sanctions on employers were stripped out of the bill for passage.

The Democrats really saved their big ammo for RFK Jr.

They really did a shitty job on Pete Hegseth, I think they would have preferred that guy not get confirmed. Seems like the shitty job was unintentional, they spent a lot of time on his drinking and infidelities, in an ineffective manner, instead of really digging into his qualifications. Maybe they were just feckless, but Hegseth isn't going to last so it's not a big deal.

RFK Jr they are really drilling into the ground. He's an easier target an more important to block. Ironically, they are really getting after him for his earlier statements supporting abortion (beyond the levels generally seen by most Democrats), to try to give the GOP Senators an out.
