I’m on record as saying I didn’t watch much of his tape or see much of his play. But “struggles to play on time, is better off script, and fumbles too much” is an exact description of Justin Fields. And those were widely accepted profile reports of Caleb.
What is “wildly stretchy” is how much you think I hate Caleb Williams. Will some of the things I expressed concern about not be problems? Sure, that’s probably likely. But I’ll never apologize for placing the Bears future franchise quarterback under the microscope. I’d rather be guilty of that than just naively believing he’s absolutely the hunky doriest off-field prospect ever. I’ll never apologize for poking holes into the #1 overall pick of the Bears profile.
Anyone who says 'struggles to play on time' hasn't seen much of him. Not worried about that at all really (and, since I know you put a ton of stock into what a QB's teammates say, his teammates seem to glow about his ability to do that and anticipate!). He is notably better and more willing as a passer - keeps his eyes upfield. If there's anything I'm worried about with Caleb it's the potential to get into hero-ball mode and force throws, but that wasn't really a huge issue with Fields. Fields simply was not ever a good passer. Was far more electric with his legs than I expect Caleb to be - Caleb makes crazy escapes like Fields does, but doesn't tend to get a bunch of rush yards out of them.
I don't think you hate him. I think you've been extraordinarily unfair to him for months, but as I've said over and over that I recognize that it's not
really about him. it's about the weird obsession with Fields.
LOL! Not going to apologize for putting the Bears' franchise QB under a microscope. I really, really hope that was meant to make me laugh, because if you typed that out earnestly and hit 'send', I've somehow been OVER estimating your self-awareness.
No one's asking you to apologize for that, but you just spent three years ensuring that NO criticism about the Bears' "franchise QB" ever go unchallenged or acknowledged without blaming literally anyone else in the guy's vicinity - and it wasn't stupid shit like "his car's too nice" or "he said something on social media", it was actual on-field "he is playing poorly" shit. You got angry with me when I complimented the Bears' franchise QB's top WR, because complimenting his teammate was the same as criticizing him to you. It was legitimately insane, delusional shit and now you want us all to just forget it ever happened and pretend you were totally reasonable about that.
