The only person white-knighting for Caleb more than Spark was Adam Hoge.
It doesn't really bother me to see you say that, honestly, because your behavior this year and the current attempt you're making at shamelessly revising history in the face of that behavior have effectively nuked any credibility you may have had.
I think Caleb was the easy choice, because Fields wasn't that good and Caleb was easily the top prospect. I think criticizing his car and a video on social media and waiting to do the medical exam is stupid shit, especially after a year or two of defending the last QB from EVERY criticism, including the extremely legitimate on-field criticisms that led him to be fired and traded for a conditional sixth round draft pick to be a backup.
If that's 'white knighting', then guilty - most people just find that rational. Of course if that's "white knighting" someone, they're going to have to invent a whole new metaphor to describe the strange slobbery you've done on Fields the last couple years, no matter how bad he was. I was infinitely more fair to Fields than you've been to Williams, and the opposite is true too - you have been much more unreasonably defensive of Fields than I have of Williams, and it isn't close.
If three years from now Williams was as mediocre as Fields was, I absolutely promise you I will not do the "NO ACTUALLY DAN ORLOVSKY SAYS IT WAS EVERYONE ELSE'S FAULT" thing you've done with Fields. It just won't happen, because that's really fucking weird behavior.
