You told me on multiple occasions you “would not draft him.” So please spare me the AOTC on Caleb routine.

The only person white-knighting for Caleb more than Spark was Adam Hoge.

It doesn't really bother me to see you say that, honestly, because your behavior this year and the current attempt you're making at shamelessly revising history in the face of that behavior have effectively nuked any credibility you may have had.

I think Caleb was the easy choice, because Fields wasn't that good and Caleb was easily the top prospect.  I think criticizing his car and a video on social media and waiting to do the medical exam is stupid shit, especially after a year or two of defending the last QB from EVERY criticism, including the extremely legitimate on-field criticisms that led him to be fired and traded for a conditional sixth round draft pick to be a backup.

If that's 'white knighting', then guilty - most people just find that rational.  Of course if that's "white knighting" someone, they're going to have to invent a whole new metaphor to describe the strange slobbery you've done on Fields the last couple years, no matter how bad he was.  I was infinitely more fair to Fields than you've been to Williams, and the opposite is true too - you have been much more unreasonably defensive of Fields than I have of Williams, and it isn't close.

If three years from now Williams was as mediocre as Fields was, I absolutely promise you I will not do the "NO ACTUALLY DAN ORLOVSKY SAYS IT WAS EVERYONE ELSE'S FAULT" thing you've done with Fields.  It just won't happen, because that's really fucking weird behavior.

Remember, I was the first person on this board to make an actual substantive criticism of Caleb Williams' game.  At the time you were shit talking him constantly, and then when I posted my thoughts from having watched him play you first mocked me for having watched him play, and then admitted that despite you criticizing him pretty much weekly at that point (midway through this season) you actually hadn't watched him play.

Again, any credibility you may have had is just gone.  The curve is somewhere off in the distance from where you've been the last 8-12 months.

Never said I was AOTC on Williams. Was AOTC on Fields sucking and needing to get his loser ass out of Chicago.

A. I’ll concede there may have been more to this than I’ve been willing to acknowledge; but IMO it’s still far from an all-out damning moment for Fields. Getsy deserved to be called out at that time. He was absolutely part of the problem. I haven’t heard or talked to one person who thinks his play-calling was at all creative, inspired and not way too predictable. No one was a fan of Getsy, unless you love Darnell Mooney blocking Myles Garrett one one one on the edge; and surely Tampa won’t see that 3rd screen pass in a row coming!

B. The guy who famously calls out any and every source that he doesn’t agree with as having no credibility is now willing to lend complete credibility to some guy he’s (we’ve) never even heard of. How convenient.

C. Nice use of the Adam Hoge meme.

A. Getsy had to deal with a QB who wasn't any good and didn't want to do what was necessary to get better. Tough way to have to call plays.

B. Everyone aggregating this story add that the original reporter is known for having NFL contacts. This was not an opinion piece, like the crap you post all the time, but actual reporting. You appear to fail to understand the difference. Don't worry, you are not alone given the sorry state of journalism  today.

You used to try to refrain from mischaracterizing others and their comments. Clearly over the past year that’s changed. Nothing I’ve said today is untrue or fraudulent. I even admitted to having my biases.

You couldn’t possibly place a young quarterback in a largely atrocious situation for 3 years and have it be anyone’s fault but his. That’s insane, amirite?

Even if he refuses to be coached and mentored and thinks he is better than he is since he actually sucks ass?

You are trying to pretend that you were super reasonable this year about Fields and about Caleb Williams.  That your 'character red flags' regarding Caleb's car was just a legit thing to be concerned about while Fields' actual mediocre play was just someone else's fault.  But those things were silly at the time, and are still silly.

For you to try to mock me for being over-defensive of the Bears' QB is truly the deepest valley of self-awareness.  Especially since, I'm (obviously) not trying to throw everyone else under the bus for his poor play; only that shit like "he drives a nice car" and "he shouldn't have waited to give let the Bears medical staff examine him" are not fair criticisms.  And I have literally not one time seen someone be so irrationally over-defensive about any player in any sport as you were of Fields last year.  There was nothing reasonable about how you acted re: Fields last year.

If Caleb is mediocre-to-bad his first couple years, the Bears shouldn't be scared to move on - I'm confident they won't be, since they weren't this time.  But that's what I'm concerned about - can he play well? Not his Lamborghini.

Dan orlavsky, Troy Aikman, and JT O’Sullivan are clearly idiots when it comes to football! But Spark knows! He’s the smartest guy in the room. Always!

Yet they all missed that Fields acted like a little bitch in the locker room.

Ever notice how once it's clear to everyone you're badly losing an argument, you so consistently just make something like this up, pretend the person you're arguing with said it, and end your post with "amirite"?

From my perspective I was reasonable on Fields. If someone thinks I was too protective of him, I get that argument, but I don’t really agree with it completely. Maybe I was. Again, with the fucking car and completely missing the point.

Yes, the Credible Trio.

You're doing the thing right now that you have been pretending I do.  You're pretty openly appealing to (some pretty moderate!) authority to try and invalidate my opinion.
