I know some of these people personally. Someone with the verbal skills of FDR, Bill Clinton, or Obama could sway enough. Some would actually understand the nuances. Others would feel like the leader did.
I am pretty sure neither Biden nor Harris are up to the task. I don't see that charismatic confidence instilling leader out there right now for Dems. Someone needs to emerge.
Repubs have some skillful demagogues.
From the last primary, the closest would be Mayor Pete, in terms of eloquence, but he isn't particularly charismatic. Booker is charismatic but not as eloquent. Bernie is smart but neither eloquent or charismatic. Beto is charismatic but he goes off into the weeds and gets lost then finally gets back and I'm not exactly sure what he was talking about. You can tell Warren knows a lot but decides to make stuff up that doesn't make any sense, when if she just went with her actual principles she'd be fine, instead her pandering just makes her look dumb because it's not even good pandering. Klobuchar and Gillebrand just suck - Gillebrand more so because she was advocating for bitcoin in 401k's. Inslee is very smart but has zero presence. After that it just sort of sucks in general.
My prediction - as much as I hated the guy as Mayor, Newsom might just get his wish. The problem being that Harris being from California might be a blockade, which would be just as useful as Hillary being in the way of Biden in 2016
