Thanks MN. Glad you liked it. Didn’t claim it was healthy! I’ll have one on rare occasions or more likely split with the kids. Special treat territory there. Thanks for the pics lol.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/19008732/police-hate-incident-boy-shorty/

Quote
cops opened a “hate incident” file after a boy of 11 was called “shorty”.

Police stepped in after the jibe in the street at the kid, who was also dubbed a “leprechaun”.

But critics say such “non-crime hate incidents”, as they are officially known, have spiralled out of control.

Josie Appleton, director of freedom of speech group the Manifesto Club, blasted: “It beggars belief that one child calling another ‘shorty’ becomes a police matter.”

And Andrew Allison, Chief Executive of the Freedom Association, said: “Something is either a crime or it isn’t.

“Non-crime hate incidents are a threat to free speech and should be consigned to the dustbin of history.”

He said the decision by cops in Wiltshire to open a file could also affect the accused’s employment prospects — as their report could show up in criminal records checks for six years.

There is no right to appeal, leading critics to accuse police chiefs of acting as the “Stasi by stealth”.

The College of Policing defines non-crime hate incidents as those “perceived by the victim or any others to be motivated by hostility or prejudice”.

Around 10,000 such incidents are recorded every year.

The kids’ spat was just one of several barmy cases uncovered by The Sun in the past 12 months.

In one recent case, cops in Essex dished out a warning to an antiques market trader who was spotted with a book for sale about TV’s The Black and White Minstrel Show.

Barmy. Not quite "moxie" level, but I bet IlliniVette could get it there if he were still around

I can understand how we wind up with horrific Presidential candidates. Voters. There is a reason why the vote was once limited to land owning men who could pass a literacy test.

htf do incompetent dimwits like Dan Quayle, Sarah Palin, and Kamala Harris get picked to be VP? They were hand picked and presumably vetted.

Not a huge Kamala fan but those other two are a couple of orders of magnitude more dimwitted. Harris won the AG role in California and it was a reasonable choice, chosen by millions more voters than even exist in Alaska. Palin's existence on that stage is pure accident.

Joe was picked because of his purported foreign policy expertise. My recollection was his being chosen was due to an overreaction caused by some international event at the time and the word was Obama lacked any foreign policy experience. Google it Big97Man.

Joe acted kind of weird at times when he was VP, but he was not incompetent. That seems to have been a more recent development. Also, there might  have been some Bob Dole syndrome. Dole was very good in person, not good on TV.

Reagan, W, and Trump picked VPs that were more qualified for the job than themselves, just not good candidates.

Gore was a competent VP, but his annoying personality made him a weak candidate. He should have won easily running on Clinton's economic record against a guy who presented as a likeable idiot.

Just wonder how someone like Harris, Palin, or Quayle could slip through a vetting process. Or Perot's pick, Stockdale.

I was thinking the same way a guy like Tim Beckman even gets considered here,  but I think that was more because nobody else would work for the AD.

Well, Grange can be happy that the Trumpists are just too crazy for 80% of his current and my former state. Colorado repudiates Trumpy candidates across the board (modulo Lauren Boebert, but the Western Slope is pretty wacky), despite Democrats spending money to try to get the GOP to nominate easily beatable Trumpers.

But oh, Illinois you wacky place, all the Trumpers cruised.

Lots of Illinoisans have bought into the America First nonsense. Trump speaks to them.
