2023-24 will be Underwood’s last at Illinois.  It’s shaping up to be one of the worst rosters ever assembled.

Lawhorn (assuming he shows up)
Harris
Goode
Rodgers
Dainja

20+ losses if that’s the squad.  One of the worst Illini teams of all time

They should have lost 15+ with normal luck/schedule with Shannon/Hawkins/Mayer/Epps.  Take those 4 off and 20 losses should be a sure thing

Ugh curse of Squeaky. Brad will be around 10 more years now.

Give it a few months before making an idiotic prediction.

So no one is willing to admit they went over to Loyalty to read the shit the purported insiders are spinning? And no one in Illini Nation thinks we have standards over here?

He was also 65-56 overall and 34-32 in C-USA in his four years there coming into this year.

Underwood is 31-45 in conference as a high major coach without Kofi Cockburn.

No that is not acceptable.

but but muh recent success in a single elimination tournament totally proves their coaching chops

Larranagga had a final 4 at George Mason.  It’s proven he can coach. And most of Miami’s success is John Ruiz paying their players.  Nigel Pack is making 400,000 a year there.  Far more than he’d make playing in the G League.

Dusty May main guys are all underclassmen.  It’s certain he can coach too and most likely is Indiana’s coach after next season.

It’s always hilarious to me that Illini fans shit on other successful coaches, but make excuses for their own.

I would expect hawkins and melendez will be on the team too, maybe even Shannon, and the transfer portal has just opened so you have no fucking clue what this team will look like next season ya dumbfuck, not to mention your freshman never get better theory here as well

Shannon is 100% not coming back.

Hawkins if he comes back to school, won’t be at Illinois. I bet it’s San Diego State given his Dad played there and they are coming off a Final 4.

It’s gonna be a dreadful team next year.  It was bad this year, but extreme luck and a bad schedule made the record far better than it should have been.  Next year I don’t see that type of luck.  Best thing for Illini fans would be Underwood choking a player in practice and getting fired for cause.

Mmmkay we rolled out a team with Jaylon Tate at point, Michael Finke at center, and Malcom Hill playing the 4 because we had no one else and they didn't manage to lose 20 games.

What we have currently would likely make the NIT next year and we have several open slots.

I said at the time that I would have loved it if Brad would have beat the shit out of Mark Smith.

This is what, the sixth or seventh straight year you've predicted we were terrible?

Hard to argue with a track record like yours, buddy.

Shannon is 100% not coming back.

This is how anyone who has heard anything from inside this program would know you're totally full of shit.

He may not be back, but if you think it's 100% you have absolutely no clue what you're talking about.

It's considerably more likely that both Shannon and Hawkins are back than that both are gone, barring both getting better-than-expected draft evals.

Sweet! We’re totally winning the conference next year!

Underwood lost 21 games with Ayo Donsumnu playing 30+ minutes a game.

It’s clear he can get far less out of the sum of the roster.

Again, I am the only insider on the Illini internet.  Do not listen to anyone else.  I will dole out common sense.

Shannon playing a 5th year does NOTHING for his NBA draft hopes

Now, what Illini booster is gonna pay him 500,000 for one season of playing on a mediocre team? Bc the only way he would come back is if he’s making more here than the pros.  Nobody is gonna do that.  If Kofi didn’t come back for the package they supposedly put together for him, Shannon is 0% coming back.  0%.
