They’re doing a good job of pissing off a lot of people who might be on the fence. I’ve talked to several people who have been leaning more progressive the last several political cycles who feel they’re being emotionally pushed back towards the center right by a lot of the double standard nonsense.

These companies are in the business of making money.  They are not doing this out of any moralistic reason.

Of course they aren’t. Most of COVID is about avoiding liability. Which is precisely why a lot of people are upset.

I doubt the head brass at McDonald’s probably gives a real shit if a single mother who works the drive through window and lives with her elderly mother gets COVID. They just want to make sure their customers think they do.

OSHA requires them to protect their workforce from known hazards already. I'm sure the McDonald's CEO does not want so many staff sick that the franchisees do not have enough employees to work the store. So I don't see the relevance to fake "taking a stand on reality tv shows." There is no law requiring them to air reality-based cop shows. It is not that veteran crime reporter and former police officer Tom Morris Jr., Sticks, and Dan Abrams can spread the COVID on the air. If they thought Live PD would continue to make them money, they would still air the shows. Seems like an overreaction to me and I'm not sure they are right,  but whatever. If, say, Fox News or FXXX wants to pick up the show, they can.
