Played baseball at Lake Land with a couple of Parisites before transferring to UI. Was in one of their weddings some years later, and I can still feel the disappointment from here.

Spent most of my life in rural EC/NE IL and despite traveling a lot, never truly appreciated what desolate, depressing place that much of it is until I moved away.

Except for lily white Washington and Mattoon, of course.
