I mean, I guess if you just believe the legacy media and left wing belief that Trump organically called a bunch of his supporters to attack the Capitol then yeah that would have been a much bigger deal that what actually happened

I don't fully believe that happened, but no one breaks into a capitol in session with at least some tactical gear intending a benign political protest.

Trump belongs in prison for other reasons. His candidacy should be left to the states even if that means the election goes to the House because as dysfunctional as the House is, we'd probably wind up with a better President than Trump.

Trump's “stolen election” lies played a major role in the J6 attack on the Capitol.  Was he involved in planning and directing the insurrection?  I don’t know.  None of us know the details of the evidence that has been collected.  Perhaps it’s minor, perhaps there's one or two bombshells. 

At a minimum, Trump is just another egotistical asshole who knew how to feed into the rioter’s hatreds and fears...it's the people he's pandering to that are the real threat to democracy...and those that enable him....

So explain this. Some were let in by guards?  Others were smashing windows to get in? How about the woman who was shot and killed? Did a guard let her in?

Please tell me that we didn't really have immigration rules in 1777 so nobody coming into the US then was illegal.

There have been illegal immigrants for well over a century.

The guards "letting them in" - if that's how you see it, doesn't make the tactical gear go away. Why exactly are people going to the capitol with tactical gear on?

These cops were 100x the men and women that the Derek Chauvin's of the world are. Cops are not solidiers. Their job is to serve and protect, not win wars. Given a situation that presents itself, they have to make choices in order to produce the best result. That might involve funneling chaos instead of pulling out your guns and shooting. See - Eugene Goodman. He was armed and could have protected the Senate Chambers with deadly force. Instead he pulled a switcheroo on the rioters, and managed to keep the Senators safe without loss of life.

Trump really stirred up some shit. At the same time Nancy and Joe had a lot more to gain from exacerbating and sensationalizing that half assed “attack” on the Capitol than Trump ever did.

Nothing like this is ever as simple as it seems. This was a power struggle with multiple players involved and we’ll likely never know who was responsible for what. It’s silly to think otherwise.
