this is totally fucked up. And I dealt with these fires. Those look like small potatoes.
22 died in Tubbs, I suspect this will be a much higher number. A lot of that was more preventable with the amount of notice, but the area hit was so large that it would be hard to throw too much shade on someone who dies in say, Orlando (unless they drowned in their car on the roadway).
But the damage level is just unreal. We lost 5000 structures in Tubbs, feels like this will be a much higher number. Different scene, same result, we had trailer parks burned to the nub, I just saw a photo of a trailer park on Hickory in Bonita where the trailers were all washed into a big pile of debris. Total loss. Parents condo, the pool is full of sand and that whole park area is under water/sand. Waves apparently hit the 2nd floor condos. We're on the 5th floor, but the building will be inaccessible for a while, months perhaps, think the elevators are a loss and maybe the stairwells are not safe. And there are several feet of sand on the road (on the opposite side of the building from the beach).
