What protocol would you be breaking by going skiing or watching an outdoor sporting event?
Also, Cancun Cruz is an idiot.
My own protocol of not traveling if I don't have to during a pandemic. Like, I don't eat meat as a rule, but if I'm gonna break that rule it ain't gonna be for a McDonald's Cheeseburger.
Remember - I have owned property in Stateline for 25 years, I know the place pretty well. It's a disease vector when there isn't a pandemic. Winter Park has had 109 employees test positive for COVID - and they don't even have casinos.
I might have sucked it up if it wasn't such a hassle to get up there - back in the day I would go up every other week but I'd throw some shit in a backpack and leave at 9 PM to skip traffic. Now, I gotta wrangle up a 12 year old, and all his shiznit, and we have to leave at a "reasonable hour" and the development in Sacramento has increased the traffic to boot. Vacations shouldn't be more chore than pleasure.
And while Heavenly is open - you need to make reservations, there is reduced capacity, etc, and part of the allure is eating out after skiing. Most of our choices are on the CA side which is still running at protocols that would make it painful at best.
It was 70 degrees yesterday, we took the pooch to the beach.
