There was a Moonies community in the area where I grew up. It was out in the woods in the middle of nowhere on a winding country road. For some reason it had become like a rite of passage for drunken high school kids to fuck up their mailbox. One night a group of 5-6 of us were riding around in an old 70s K5 Blazer drinking Goldschlager from the bottle. The guy who owned the Blazer thought it would be a great idea to hook a tow rope to their mailbox and take off.

When we pulled up I noticed that the Moonies had put a steel I beam in the ground to deter this type of thing but my warning went unheeded. Dude named Juan jumped out and threw the tow rope around it and we tried pulling it in 4 Lo but it didn’t even budge. Jason decided to back up and really jerk the fuck out of it.

The tow rope snapped and the rear end of the truck grenaded. This was well before cell phones were available to high school students so we limped back to town in 4wd with just the front wheels pulling us along and truck making a horrible whining the entire way.

I still go by there every now end again. It’s owned by a local individual now but that mailbox is exactly the same as it was then.

We don’t have to stereotype. You just watch how they vote, they stereotype themselves. They threw themselves down at the feet of a man who embodies almost the exact opposite of everything their nominal “savior” preached.
