Louisiana law gives sole custody to the mother in this situation.
The Mom wanted to take her home with her. The girl wasn't deported.

Louisiana law says the dad wouldn't get custody? I know they still got some of that old time French legal shit down there but that sounds screwed up.

It's not certain he's the dad. The court documents say "partner" from what I've read.
Under La law if 2 people aren't married at time of birth the Mom gets sole custody. So the court could appoint a guardian or the Mom can take the kid home.
And the kid can come back whenever.

The point was not who got custody in LA. The point was the Trump Administration appears to deporting far fewer unlawful immigrants than they claim. They are seemingly denying them adequate due process. The deportees are not necessarily violent criminals. Often the only the law they broke was unlawful entry. Some didn't break any law at all.

The biggest “W” the left has of late is begging judges to block the removal of criminal illegal aliens from our country. Trump is playing 4D chess to the point Democrats are flexing their purely anti-American values. Thanks for the midterms, guys!

There seems to be some level of disagreement on what constitutes the law as it pertains to deporting under the Enemy Aliens Act. Why the hell is everyone so obsessed with protecting illegal aliens?
