But who will protect the 270 player in pads from the ref’s ever so slight ass movement?

I don't think I have to worry about the football player being hurt to say that a ref initiating contact with a player while making a game-changing bad call against said player is a pretty bad look.

I’m not going to argue this asinine topic. The ref was bracing for contact, and rightly so. He barely moved. Marsh was heading right at him until Marsh zig zags out of the way with one step left. No one, and I mean no one makes anything of it if not for the taunting call. Again, bad teams seem to put themselves in position to be penalized. Make the tackle, turn back to your team and celebrate with Roquan on the way back instead of staring at the opposing sideline. Former Steeler btw.

This whole debate is stupid. Bad, undisciplined teams lose games like this all the time. Jump on the merry go round and go for another ride.

Yeah, I mean if the video pretty objectively proved me wrong I wouldn't argue it either.

It was an awful call, a disgraceful move to initiate contact. and there absolutely need to be consequences for it.  I just refuse to believe it's a coincidence that the only person I see anywhere defending the ref is someone who actively wanted the Bears to lose.

That is not the point. He moved into the celebrating moron and then threw the flag at the celebrating moron.

He was not bracing for contact. He moved INTO Marsh's way. Why? Have no clue. Was extremely odd. Guy had it in for the Bear. You should be happy as it worked.

Yeah, saying that the ref was trying to avoid or brace for contact by moving directly into the player is just the flimsiest possible argument.

Lol the ref barely moves at all. And that was after the giant man in pads started jogging directly at him. The ref was in a defensive position. Huge nothing burger. No one notices it if not for the taunting call.

The ref was stationary when Marsh started directly in his path. JFC

To blame contact on the stationary much smaller person is an asinine take.

The ref barely moves, but sticks his ass in the way of the giant man in pads is a defensive position? And only when he bumps player he pulls out the flag? Weird for a "nothing burger."

To blame contact on the stationary much smaller person is an asinine take.

We're blaming contact on the guy who objectively stuck his body into the path another guy was moving on.

I said earlier that I think calling it a 'hip check' is an exaggeration, but he absolutely moved his body into Marsh's path and initiated the contact no matter how hard you try to pretend he didn't.

Because only a larger person can initiate contact.
