People call Barack and Michele Obama hypocrites because they worked hard, have done well, and own several top end homes.

They don't seem to mind paying more in taxes to be benefit the general economy.

Rich Republicans run for office. Democrats run for office and then get rich.

Nichi-Democrat mind meld is almost complete—most concerned with moral superiority and getting a cut of other peoples’ money.

How does a guy like Clarence Thomas fit in with your take?

Or Newt Gingrich?

Or Dennis Hastert?

Or Sarah Palin?

Or J. B. Pritzker?

The traditional old school. rich Republicans would all be moderate Democrats if they were alive today. Guys like Nelson Rockefeller...

I find average people making usually modest donations relatively tame (union teachers for example) compared to billionaires and millionaires and corporations funneling money through super pacs. I don’t see how that’s hypocritical. The process should favor the working class. It doesn’t.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

And foreign governments/interests should no be allowed to donate millions to American political candidates.

People don’t call them hypocrites because they worked hard and got rich and own high end homes, they call them hypocrites because they got rich by being public servants that campaigned as regular people trying to help the poor and marginalized.

Politics is kind of like NIL money. Pay someone to work in your favor but disguise it as book deals or public speaking engagements to make it more palatable to the public.

Hard to believe, having watched the ecstacy of the 2008 Change campaign, that Obama’s legacy would end up being “rich guy who doesn’t mind paying taxes to benefit the economy”

They are the elite now.  It’s not that hard to understand.

You mean Pritzker, the guy that hides his money in foreign trusts, rips out toilets in his multiple homes to avoid paying his fair share of real estate taxes, and then spends millions trying to convince saps like us to pay more taxes? That JB Pritzker?

I think Harris will make inroads with the working class, particularly union households.  That could make a difference in Pennsylvania and Michigan.

We are about two weeks away from getting polls that should give us a better picture of the lay of land.
