In fact, I’d say Fields’ tenure failed in equal parts due to coaching/support, lack of talent around him, his own shortcomings.

When I complimented a catch one of Fields' teammates made, did you get defensive of Fields?

What about when I said "the good and the bad of Fields" after a great play and a bad play back to back - did you get super defensive of Fields for that?

I’m nearly certain that didn’t happen. I’ve always said some of Justin’s failures are on him. But you’ve taken up to mischaracterizing people’s comments; the thing you claim to hate the most.

Yes, I’m sure I’ve explained more than a handful of bad plays. And yes, Bob Tonyan also dropped a great pass that could have been the difference in the game. Both things can be true.

I probably did it because you so often credited people for making plays without giving Justin proper due. Hell, you once praised a guy for dropping a Hail Mary he had in his arms as a “hell of a play just to give himself a chance.”

Praised him?

No, I defended him because you and the rest of the Fields Fellatio Gang were out for blood.  Because a dude made a hell of a play, reached out and grabbed a literal Hail Mary, and then dropped the catch in the end.  Which of course completely exonerated Fields from any and all mistakes he made that day.
