Fartface, your quote makes no sense
This is a game a team that wants to win the B1G has to win. No excuses.
-
K
-
A comprehensible version reads like this:
"If a team wants to win the Big Ten, consider the lilies."
-
Consider the audience. I’d never (and didn’t) post that here.
-
But they're even stupider than us (with one obvious exception). You need to edit that shit.
-
Dan doesn’t allow editing after a certain point in time but I could make another post clarifying that I was changing it at your request
-
Not following above,, but we should handle these guys with ease.
-

Too risky. You might get banned.
-
Yeah good thinking I’m running out of email addresses to use over there.
I’m in downtown Champaign tonight let me know if you’d like to buy me a drink

After I got banned there I never even tried to setup another account. It was like my third post and it wasn't even slightly bad, just minor complaining after a loss.
-
Fuck that place.
-
Nice start today
-
Isn't it great to have a game without having to suffer through either Bardo or Dakich?
-
Nice start today
Except for Curbelo.
-
Did they really call a flagrant one on Damonte?! And are they able to go back and review it when it wasn’t even called a foul in the first place?!
-
Kofi dunking all over the Badgers
-
Up by 12 despite Adam Miller and Curbelo forgetting to show up today
-
I expected Belo to struggle against this veteran backcourt. We playing some serious good defense. Maybe best half defensively of the year.
We Need to stop turning the ball over.
-
Wisky's had wide open looks that haven't gone in but we are still locking them down. Gotta maintain this and finish. You know they'll start hitting at a better clip in the 2nd half.
Kofi is dunking, making jumpers, grabbing boards, hustling for loose balls, altering shots. He's fucking everywhere! Inject that shit into my veins.
-
Curbelo gets caught dribbling into no man's land way too much
-
5 turnovers in 6 minutes to open half
-
5 turnovers in 6 minutes to open half
Curbelo is killing us right now
-
Badgers? We don't need no stinkin' Badgers. Ándale!
-
Yeah, sorry Mike, but NFW is Ohio State a #1 seed. Other than it would guarantee the Buckeyes avoid being in the same bracket as Gonzaga or Baylor.
-
Ace with the dagger!
Ayo gets the trip-dub!
-
Good win by the Illini. Hard to believe it is the team's first win over Wisconsin at
Assembly Hall State Farm Center Assembly Hall since 2011.
-
We racked up nearly 20 turnovers and still picked up a rather convincing win over a top 20 team.
We outrebounded Wisky 46-20 and only gave up 2 offensive rebounds - 1 of which came on the last possession of the game.
This is what a legit beast down low looks like, Illini brethren. Kofi was literally everywhere. Wisky is going to have nightmares of Kofi destroying the rim for quite some time.
I'll say it again - thank god Ayo decided to come back. What else is there to say about him at this point?
-
I love a game with zero drama.
-
I remember having a big losing streak to them overall (which was probably broken by us beating them in Kohl last year) but never would have guessed we hadn’t beat them in Champaign since 2011. Lots of bad streaks being broken this season. Was good to see us just kinda handle a team and take care of business.
As the broadcast came to an end and they were showing the highlights I got to thinking there’s a bunch of young people watching these guys play who are gonna remember them the way most of us remember 89 and 05. Ayo and Kofi are rapidly becoming household names across the country.
Doesn’t hurt that Kofi and Ayo are badass names and the Illini are one of the most fun teams in the country to watch. They put 75 on a disciplined team that consistently plays at the slowest pace in the league. Tons of dunks and getting up and down the floor. Hope it translates into some recruiting momentum (insert Jim Calhoun joke here)
-
You guys controlled the entire game and Brad Davidson showed sportsmanship instead of punching someone in the dick. I'd call that a good day.

This.

And this. Now tell your Wolverines to play us and quit being pussies.
-
We are a bad match up for Wisconsin. I am sure it will be tougher at their place, but we are simply better than them by a large margin.
Ayo had a game. He is starting to look like a guy that can stick on an NBA roster.
Almost had a quadruple double if he could have racked up 3 more TO's.
-
Illini should take a decent jump in the rankings Monday. Houston, Texas, Iowa, Oklahoma, Alabama and Tennessee (all ranked above us) all took one or more losses this week.
-
And this. Now tell your Wolverines to play us and quit being pussies.
Michigan will miss their fifth straight game this week. At what point do these just become forfeits? It's ridiculous.
-
Kofi's defense today was stellar. He only had one foul, which is amazing for a big guy playing hard.
-
I hope it gets rescheduled but I'm okay with not having to play you guys with two whole days to knock off three weeks of rust. ;D

I am sure they haven't been sitting in their dorm room eating pizza for two weeks without picking up a basketball.
My guess is they have had regular structured small group workouts daily.
Just play the fcking game.
-
So their biggest win was Wiscy at home?
-

-
So their biggest win was Wiscy at home?
Everyone of these systems has a hard on for Quad 1 wins which include road wins vs some real Top 75 garbage.
Now OSU being talked about as a 1 seed after getting 8th quad 1 win and beating Iowa who in real life has one of the worst defenses in the country.
We have 6 Quad 1 wins.
UM looks very good. Let's see what they are made of.
Right now- we might be best team in league with the upgraded Kofi with an attitude and team playing better D.
-
So their biggest win was Wiscy at home?
They haven't played Illinois, Iowa, Ohio State, Rutgers, or Michigan State. Hard to tell how good they actually are.
-
I’ve been trying not to get irritated by whatever the hell it is Michigan is doing but it hasn’t been easy. Locking these kids in their apartments and having them videotape their workouts to hold each other accountable is pretty Orwellian. Would be one thing if any of them had actually had the virus or even been exposed to it but that wasn’t the case. Seems like a complete overreaction. And I definitely don’t think they should get to take a week to leisurely shake the rust off.
I doubt the B1G can even do shit about it though because UM will say they were doing this for the protection of the players and opposing teams (while also giving themselves a huge advantage by ducking tough games)
-
You expected something different from Michigan? Howard is just following the example set by Harbaugh. Duck the good teams to avoid embarrassment on national tv. The Buckeyes were going to beat the Wolverines by 50+ had the football teams played in 2020. Iowa was going to beat Michigan by 30+. And Maryland probably was going to beat UM, too. So Team Covid opted out of all 3 games.
The Chefs should have taken a Covid-19 bye today.

Michigan after seeing Kofi and Ayo against the Badgers

How do you know who was and wasn’t exposed to the virus? How does anyone know?
I’ve always been an advocate for individual freedom up until this pandemic, because I believed that most people, if given the choice, would choose the good and decent thing. That’s a fucking fantasy at this point. I don’t have any problem with some draconian measures if it will help contain the spread.

Kids playing basketball for scholarships is far more important.

That’s their judgment to make. They have decided they’re going to play. If they’re going to play, they have to do it responsibly.

It’s been widely reported this had nothing to do with a regular Covid protocol (team members testing positive or being contact traced) and was instead entirely preemptive because the variant was discovered elsewhere in the athletic department. But good to know you’re good on draconian measures against healthy young people who aren’t even being allowed to visit their own families.
-
Count me in!
#TeamDraconian
-
We know.
-
There are clear CDC protocols that the BB team, and other teams there could have followed to allow safely and responsibly resuming their activities. Yes, from what I have read it was not a BB team related infection.
Really do not know what they are doing at this point.
-

Yep. Do what is necessary. We had a chance to do the right thing in this country, and we showed that we can’t even be bothered to give even the tiniest shit about our most vulnerable citizens. Time to force people to do the right thing via criminal laws, as far as I’m concerned.
And I don’t care if they’re young and healthy. More cases = more community spread = more hospitalizations and deaths and a bigger tax on our already strained health care system.
More cases = longer until businesses can reopen too, since that seems to matter more to some people than half a million deaths.
EDIT: more cases = more chances for mutation into a worse variant too.
-
I live in Iowa.
7th highest infection rate in country.
47th in testing. 47th in vaccinations.
Oh, and zero restrictions. No masks required anywhere.
Gov Sarah Palin lite Trump's nuts on my chin said Covid is over.

I haven't been on your side of the river much, but it's getting pretty lax over here in RI county as well.

FFS man people can go out and eat even in California and Illinois and we need to lock down young healthy college basketball players that are getting tested every single day when they haven’t even had a positive test? Players who aren’t even being allowed to really even interact with people outside their team? College or pro basketball is probably one of the safest things a person could be doing in regard to Covid risk.
And spare me the lecture about how “we” didn’t do anything to spread the risk. Millions of people (most of whom weren’t even at risk) locked down and locked down hard. Tens of thousands of businesses closed and will never reopen. Mental health is a national crisis. We ballooned the national debt by printing money to offset the enormous economic damages caused by the lockdowns. Don’t say we didn’t try JFC.
-

We are just winnowing out the weak by killing grandma and letting the loonies go crazy on lockdown. Darwinism, baby.
Cheney said Reagan showed deficits didn't matter.
-
We know.
I will continue to reject covid advice from covidiots who got covid.

Have to disagree here.

Some of us had to go about the rather essential business of producing food for those who don’t produce food. To be clear, I don’t actually put the food into the dumpsters, I just have a role in its production.

Mmm, pigs.

Those people eating out in restaurants aren’t going to be spending an hour and a half in face to face maskless contact with a bunch of other people in a couple of days. Again, it’s not about whether the kids are healthy, it’s about containment.
And I say “we” because this shit is like a baseball game. It doesn’t matter if you or I go 5-5, if the rest of the team sucks balls, we still lose. Yes, plenty of people are doing the right thing, but plenty of people aren’t. I don’t know where you live, but I see careless shit daily. When you get into more rural areas, it’s a free for all. In central Illinois, there are even people who boycott businesses that have mask requirements.
The people who are careless are ruining it for everyone. I have sacrificed a ton, and I’m getting sick of doing it while seeing other people carrying on as though nothing is wrong. If everyone would wear masks and take a little care, maybe we could open more stuff up and relax restrictions so that more people could work, there would be fewer mental health problems, and we wouldn’t need to take on trillions more debt for relief.

Brad Davison is a dirty little Grayson Allen wannebe with zero talent. Every time he drives he goes chin hunting. He pushes, grabs, and trips from behind constantly. He is a little bitch.
I fully expect to get homered up there and lose even if we had Ayo. BT has sent orders to help WIsky and their reeling shitty team also.
And I think that we get the treatment in all three of our regular season games also as league wants UM and OSU to get #1 seeds.
We are likely going to finish 17-9 and 13-7 and be a 3 seed at best, and hope we get AYO back with a Hannibal Lecter mask for NCAA's.

Woke up just in time for the call
-
I mean, why would you get out of bed before it's time to Zoom? Answer: You need a gallon of milk.
It was a great day to walk across town. I sat outside the Union (with my gallon of milk).
-
Its been awhile since we have had back to back sunny days near 60F for a weekend.
Hopefully the energy from the Nebraska game can carry over.
-
We will need great offensive games out of our guards. Our advantage over Wisconsin was based upon how slow they are and they could not handle Ayo in particular.
We will need 9 or 10 threes and Curbello can't have 5 TOs.
-
Other than the team that took 3 games off, and that's assuming they don't take any more off, there are 5 teams who will play 20 games looking for 3 spots.
We need a win to make it 4 teams looking at 3 spots.
The Big10 owes us one.
Maybe they'll protect Kofi and blow the whistle on Davison.
Yeah, right. What am I thinkin?

Do we lock up the BTT double bye with one win? Is head to head the tiebreaker (we beat Iowa and Purdue)?
Today is definitely the best chance.

Nope. We just knock Wisco out of the picture.
We may need a head to head go our way.
Bucknuts have 2 home games vs xxxx and us. I assume they finish 14-6.
xxxx has tOSU, Nebby and Wisco
PU has Wisco and Indiana. Bad addition. PU only plays 19 games.
A win today vs Wisco would let us finish better than both Wisco and PU.
Maybe xxxx can have another late season collapse.
-
This ain't right.
Delay coverage of our game so we can watch the end of Satan's game.
-
A little sloppy
-
Wiscy is bad. Tighten up on the turnovers and should win by 25.
-
We sure do like unforced turnovers.
-
We sure do like unforced turnovers.
8 turnovers in 9 minutes
-
Curbelo has been terrible so far
-
Terrible start. 11 turnovers and wisky made 1 of their 1st 15 attempts.
-
11 turnovers. A game's worth already.
-
That shouldn't have been a flagrant. Just two guys with their arms raised going for rebound.
-
Up by ten at half.. I'll take it.
-
Hawkins might walk home today jk
-
65 to 27 shooting
Missed 5 free throws
Up 8 rebounding
-
If we can shoot above 45% in 2nd half and play good D, it's ours.
-
We're really fortunate that Wisky has missed some open looks.
-
Wisconsin is just not good, but they are terrible today.
-
15 turnovers and Wisco is trying to give us the game.
We're playing like we're not sure we want it.
-
Yep. Illini should be losing by 10.
-
We will take it if they are going to shit the bed all day.
We need this win to get 3 seed or somehow still sneak into a 2 seed. Do not want a 4 seed.
-
This game is pretty much unwatchable.
-
the announcers seem bored
-
Wisky trying to shoot themselves out of this game. We're still allowing them to hang around with our idiocy.
-
Geez. How bad are we going to be next year??
-
We look gassed. Gotta hang on and get the hell out of here with the W.
-
No turnovers, play d, and make free throws.
-
No turnovers, play d, and make free throws.
Well...
-
Inbound to Kofi. Just not thinking
-
What are we fouling for ? Not thinking again.
-
Of course Wisky starts hitting threes now
-
FUCK!
-
That;s a two
-
It's a 2
-
You gotta foul here. No way am I letting Trice shoot.
-
WHAT THE FUCK? WHY?
-
Damonte has too much of a attitude this year
use your head
-
Game!
-
I hate being disappointed with a win but here I am. Can't see us pulling out either of the next two :(
-
We got a gift here. We looked like shit.
Need Ayo back.
-
tOSU takes care of xxxx and that should give us the 3 seed.
-
Damonte has too much of a attitude this year
use your head
We're lucky it was offsetting. That could have fucked us. It could very well in the tourney though.
-
The turnovers were concerning, but we still had the game well in hand until Trice lost consciousness. Five 3s in five trips will cut into a lead.
I'll take the win.
-
I hate being disappointed with a win but here I am. Can't see us pulling out either of the next two :(
B1G road win vs. a ranked team without our MVP but damn that last 5-10 was rough.
Really want to know what Tucker did that got Demonte that worked up and got the Ts offsetting. What a cluster last 2 mins.
-
Curbelo, Frazier, and Grandison were ice with 10-10 FTs to finish.
-
52% to 35% shooting and win a nail biter.
-

I'll take the win.
Gotta hand it to Trice. He was banking in threes and hitting them with guys draped all over him. He damn near stole the game from us.
We got the fuck out of there with the W. Without our superstar. I'll take it. Not many wins this time of year are gonna win you style points.
-

A road win against a ranked team without an AA.
Yup.
-
Fugly win, but I will take it. I wonder what tucker said to Williams? Either way, Damonte almost cost us the game. He has to stay above that shit.
-
It’s pretty crazy how quickly our expectations change. Just two years ago beating a ranked WI team @Kohl without our best player would have been a pipe dream. Now some seem to expect a blowout. It’s frustrating at times but fun watching the other guys respond with Ayo out. I think the deference to Ayo really hurt us in some of our losses and we should be a more well rounded and aggressive team when Ayo comes back.
-
My only gripe with Brad today was the inbounds plays. We took our sweet ass time getting the ball allowing them to set up their defense. Then we run that same football fly pattern play where everyone goes long and one guy (usually Trent) curls underneath. Wisky was all over it.
-
The announcers said the same about the inbounds. Seemed to me like we got the ball in safely time after time when it mattered
-

Yeah, I can’t see being disappointed by this. Had Trice not gone out of his mind at the end, we would have pulled off a double digit road win against a ranked team.
The only thing to be disappointed about was the inbounds plays.
-
BTW, I don’t think I have ever seen a clock operator so blatantly giving time at the end. Wisconsin got at least an extra 0.5 seconds every time the clock started.
-
Glad we won, but Wisky was simply beyond terrible until last 2:30 and I doubt we would beat many teams playing like we did.
20 TOs.
We need Ayo back.

No one seems to be answering the question on the double T. Looked like maybe Belo got into their huddle by staying where he was on court? DW was just protecting the freshman to me.
-
I don't think anybody cared all that much.
But I also don't think Wisconsin had the "right" to a huddle at that point.

I think you are correct and they were trying to sneak in a TO basically.
It was a game that was painful to watch and that was a fitting end.

With any luck, the Badgers bring their entire lineup back for next season. You know for the health insurance as a bridge to Medicare.

True story. Trice was born in 1996. Will be 25 in May.

Anybody know where to stream a replay of the game? Missed it. Wanted to see this late game technical bizness.

Anybody know where to stream a replay of the game? Missed it. Wanted to see this late game technical bizness.
You won't see much tho.
I looked at a Wisco message board and it wasn't brought up.
My guess, without knowing the rules, is that Wisco was out of timeouts and the team stepped on the court for a chat.
Did DaMonte politely remind the Wisco bench that they were out of timeouts and they shouldnt be on the floor, and the Wisco asst holler back at DaMonte ?
The announcer thought it was a bench technical for the team being on the floor.
DaMonte should know better than to bark, but he may have been a little over exuberant about finishing his career with 3 wins in a row against a program that had beaten us something like 15 games in a row.
Box score shows a T on DaMonte and a team T for Wisco.

You're right, not much to see. Their bench is up, Curbelo is near them. Damonte walks up, says something, and the official is right there. Stupid.
Antigua sure was pissed.

There's a replay on ESPNU at 12N for those who thought the game was unwatchable, and want to see it again.
