I remember having a big losing streak to them overall (which was probably broken by us beating them in Kohl last year) but never would have guessed we hadn’t beat them in Champaign since 2011. Lots of bad streaks being broken this season. Was good to see us just kinda handle a team and take care of business.

As the broadcast came to an end and they were showing the highlights I got to thinking there’s a bunch of young people watching these guys play who are gonna remember them the way most of us remember 89 and 05. Ayo and Kofi are rapidly becoming household names across the country.

Doesn’t hurt that Kofi and Ayo are badass names and the Illini are one of the most fun teams in the country to watch. They put 75 on a disciplined team that consistently plays at the slowest pace in the league. Tons of dunks and getting up and down the floor. Hope it translates into some recruiting momentum (insert Jim Calhoun joke here)

You guys controlled the entire game and Brad Davidson showed sportsmanship instead of punching someone in the dick. I'd call that a good day.

We are a bad match up for Wisconsin. I am sure it will be tougher at their place, but we are simply better than them by a large margin.
Ayo had a game. He is starting to look like a guy that can stick on an NBA roster.

Almost had a quadruple double if he could have racked up 3 more TO's.

Illini should take a decent jump in the rankings Monday. Houston, Texas, Iowa, Oklahoma, Alabama and Tennessee (all ranked above us) all took one or more losses this week.

I am sure they haven't been sitting in their dorm room eating pizza for two weeks without picking up a basketball.
My guess is they have had regular structured small group workouts daily.
