Tempo will still start a new game thread.
-
Lol

Run the fucking ball. A lot. This is a really big game for the Bears season, and a really big game for the coaching staff IMO. If the Bears play smart and take care of business it will be a confidence booster in the coaching staff (again IMO).
Starting Matt Pryor is a good first step. Flus needs to show he’s willing to hold players accountable. We need to dress up our plays in different formations. Run some more power football and take some pressure off Caleb. Run some play action. Less fucking shotgun, please.
The Bears are somehow a 1 point underdog in this game, but I just don’t see it. I think the Bears should win this game by 10-14 no problem if they don’t have their heads up their asses.
My prediction: 24-10 Bears.
-
WTF RUN THE BALL
-
Up and down opening drive. We need a kicker with a bigger leg. Dudes are driving the ball 60 easily these days.
-
That wasn’t PI lol. No home cooking for the Colts apparently
-
No Khalil Herbert? He’s their best true runner.
-
That wasn’t PI lol. No home cooking for the Colts apparently
I didn’t think so in real-time, but replay showed him getting there a half-tick early.
-
Offense still a bit too disjointed.
-
Cannot believe Herbert has not been on the field.
-
I didn’t think so in real-time, but replay showed him getting there a half-tick early.
That gets let go more often than not.
-
Terrible call that was a fumble
-
Bad officiating today
-
That wasn’t PI lol. No home cooking for the Colts apparently
Spoke too soon. Bears got effed out of that turnover.
-
Why are we showing 5 wide?
-
Braxton Jones down…
-
Bears definitely got fucked on the fumble.
Offense is still a disaster
-
Johnson got clowned
-
And Richardson gives the Bears a gift. Wtf was that throw?
-
Oh boy. What the fuck was Richardson looking at there?
He might be dumb…
-
lol wow what a terrible throw
-
Williams completes a deep shot! And to Odunze!
-
What a fucking throw and catch! Wow!
-
oh my god they completed a pass
-
And just like that the good vibes have vanished
-
Well fuck…
-
Can’t stare him down like that in this league, and make a soft throw.
-
Hooo boy
-
Swift is fucking terrible why do they keep feeding him the ball
-
Roschon Johnson showing some stuff.
-
Swift is fucking terrible why do they keep feeding him the ball
The Eagles O-line made him look good
-
I don’t get the Everett love either. Play Kmet!
-
The Eagles O-line made him look good
definitely the case, he's hot garbage with da bear
-
Terrible 3rd down spot. Should have never been a 4th down.
-
I don’t get the Everett love either. Play Kmet!
also hot garbage
-
Terrible 3rd down spot. Should have never been a 4th down.
Agreed. He had that by a yard. The other ref pointed down to where it should’ve been.
-
Terrible 3rd down spot. Should have never been a 4th down.
yeah wtf was that shit kmet's waist was on the first down
-
lets get Caleb his first passing TD here
-
Oh boy. Terrible fucking play calling.
-
holy shit what a dumpster fire
-
Good lord Waldron is a fucking dumbass. Should have just taken the 3 if that's the shit you were gonna run.
-
I do know that Anthony Richardson sucks. He’s an athlete playing QB. He’s not good.
-
Good lord Waldron is a fucking dumbass. Should have just taken the 3 if that's the shit you were gonna run.
+1
-
nice penalty dumbass
-
Peak Bears right there
-
fuuuuck a yard short
-
Damn, almost a TD there before half.
-
Williams has 213 yards passing and the Bears have zero points at half.
-
Swift is fucking terrible why do they keep feeding him the ball
Same shit different day. Shotgun happy OC doesn’t know how to use personnel. Swift is more of a receiving/change of pace guy and they are trying to use him as a workhorse. Meanwhile, Khalil Herbert has averaged 5+ yards per carry the last two years and can barely find the field. And yes, I realize he had opportunities at the goal line, but they were in stupid shotgun and not creating any explosion off the ball.
-
Mooney catches that ball in the end zone. DJ Moore is overrated and overpaid. Hope someone calls him out in the locker room.
-

Yeah they got it all backwards
-

Lol
-
This is nauseating to watch
-
Not sure we’d score on Loyola HS.
-
Shane Steichen doesn't want to win this game either
-
We’re throwing it at a 65/35 ratio when we should be running it 65/35.
-
We’re throwing it at a 65/35 ratio when we should be running it 65/35.
Agreed
-
Caleb’s deep ball is fucking garbage. He had plenty of time to let Rome get down there and get under that one. He rushed it for no reason.
I’m a little worried about that. He may be shell shocked by playing behind that shit line, but still. He is missing too many throws that HS quarterbacks make.
-
Nice going dumbshit
-
Forward progress wasn't stopped there but it was stopped on the fumble. OK.
Anyway, stick a fork in Da Bears
-
That pile went nowhere for two seconds, and they still didn’t blow the whistle
-
Fuck man lol. An offsides on a god damn punt. Results in a touchdown.
-
Fuck man lol. An offsides on a god damn punt. Results in a touchdown.
Eberflus coached team for you
-
That pile went nowhere for two seconds, and they still didn’t blow the whistle
Eh. Get him on the fucking ground and it isn’t an issue. Better yet, don’t go offside on a god damn punt.
-
bears once again hilariously bad
-
This shit is too much to watch. My eyes are bleeding.
-
This shit is too much to watch. My eyes are bleeding.

-
If we’d have scored from the 1sts line earlier, we’d have a game…
-
IF WE CAN GET A TD HERE!
-
Williams to Odunze for 6! First of hopefully many to come!
-
It wouldn't be Eberflus if he didn't waste a timeout or two at some point during the game.
-
Ok now we have a ballgame again
-
I don’t like going for 2 there
-
I don’t like going for 2 there
yeah lot of time left, your defense is good, pretty stupid decision imo
-
Now let’s go damnit! We’ve got Williams and Odunze’s first TD out of the way with one throw.
Kinda crazy only one player will get to keep the ball. One player is missing out on keeping history.
-
There was literally no negative of going for two there.
-
Convinced Getsy is still calling plays from undisclosed location.
(https://i.postimg.cc/C1ZYj5Qb/IMG-8945.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/MM8hw6xG)
-
Except wasting the timeout.
-
Would have been moronic not to go for 2. But the play call???
-
Let’s strip the damn ball. I don’t see anyone going for the ball.
-
There was literally no negative of going for two there.
Yes there is. There’s a lot of time left. If they go down and kick a field goal, you’re down 17-9. So you need a 2 to tie. With most of the 4th quarter left, take the points.
It’s basic math. Get to 14-10. That’s way fucking better than 14-9.
-
Would have been moronic not to go for 2. But the play call???
lol, no. Still too early for it. Now, we’re in a very tough spot because we didn’t get it.
-
And now, if they get a TD they’re up 15-14. So go for one, get up by 2. It’s fucked now because you didn’t get it.
-
I’m good with going for the 2.
-
I'm not good with that fumble
-
That’s what a good DE (rookie too) can do for you…
-
nice blocking scheme there
-
I’m good with going for the 2.
Ok. We can disagree. lol. Not like it matters now
-
Glad they bought Eberflus back
-
Now they’re up 12. Instead of 11. That shit matters.
-
Now they’re up 12. Instead of 11. That shit matters.
😂
-
Why is Cole Kmet one on one with a pass rushing specialist DE?
-
😂
You’re saying being down 11 isn’t way better than 12?
Again, it’s basic math. Now they need 2 touchdowns, instead of a TD, 2pt and field goal. Get the fucking points when you can.
-
Why is Cole Kmet one on one with a pass rushing specialist DE?
A decided schematic advantage on that one, nice job fucktards
-
Herbert should have been a much bigger part of the game plan. This is largely on the coaching.
-
Have we heard Tyler Scott’s name since training camp?
-

I'm thinking that you understanding this concept sounds very faggyish to Jrock
-

Poles is awesome
-
Why is Cole Kmet one on one with a pass rushing specialist DE?
Wasn't it his first sack?
-
Wasn't it his first sack?
pretty easy to get one matched up solo against a TE during a play action pass
-
Kmet has 10 catches for 97 yards? What did I miss? Did I eat too much ice cream at the half?
-
Wasn't it his first sack?
He was literally regarded as the most talented pass rusher in the draft.
-
Kmet has 10 catches for 97 yards? What did I miss? Did I eat too much ice cream at the half?
10 catches and zero blocks.
-
TD. Now go for 2. Oh wait doesn’t matter now. lol dipshits.
-
He was literally regarded as the most talented pass rusher in the draft.
So, yes, it was his first sack of his career
-
sure would be nice to have another time out
-
10 catches and zero blocks.
Good one. I feel like he and Marcedes didn’t play well together that snap. Lewis gave Latu a kiss and let Cole have him.
-
sure would be nice to have another time out
Would have been nice to have another point too.
-
why wouldn't you return that kick
-
sure would be nice to have another time out
No idea why they called the one at the one yard line around the 5 1/2 minute mark. Weird call when it showed Flus was running trying to hurry up and call it. Weird shit.
-
Would have been nice to have another point too.
or another 4 points even
-
Why no onsides?
Eberlose...well, you all should know my thoughts on him.by now
-
a coaching clinic in retardation
nice job boors
-
Boy, they really got out coached in this one. Jesus. Too bad.
-
I fell asleep and woke up after the game ended. How’s the rebuild going?
-
I fell asleep and woke up after the game ended. How’s the rebuild going?
Going well enough that even Tempo has figured out Eberlose sucks.
-
I fell asleep and woke up after the game ended. How’s the rebuild going?
Not bad. Maybe not as good as hoped. We’re 3 games into the new look Bears. A coaching change a nice FA on the Oline could help a lot.
-
Going well enough that even Tempo has figured out Eberlose sucks.
There are things to like about Eberflus. But he’s got to show he can coach the entire team, not just the defense. So far that’s not going well.
-
I’ll just say we need to trust the process…
-
But if I were betting $100 straight up on whether Flus is back next year, I’d bet against it. It has to get a lot better. That offensive game plan was trash. Mostly just more of the same. Don’t know how to use personnel.
-

Giving up 150 yards rushing and 3 pass plays over 25 yards to the Colt is not getting the job done on defense either.

-
Frustrating game. The defense is still pretty good, offense a lot more productive, and we blow it with just dumb mistakes.
The wasted timeouts, especially the one after the TD. The penalty on the punt. The goalline sequence. The weird decision to kick off at the end. Really, really ugly.
He made some mistakes today obviously but the sky is the limit for Caleb and Rome. Obviously some need on the line, but there aren't too many other glaring personnel holes - having three picks in the first two rounds and that kind of obvious hole makes the decisions easier next offseason. But none of that will matter if bad discipline and coaching errors blow winnable games.
Flus earned a lot of good will the second half of last year but most of that's gone given the start. He needs to win games or we're going to be back in the same situation looking for a coach.
-
Go fuck yourself
-
I'm actually only here to talk to the grown ups, sorry Jobu.
-
I'm actually only here to talk to the grown ups, sorry Jobu.
I don’t think the grown ups want to talk to you
-
Well you morons ran most of them off - there are a few though. You just wouldn't recognize one if you saw it.
-
Fuck off you piece of shit
-
Nah, I'm good.
Funny to watch this after we left things on relatively good terms as far as I know. Not surprising, obviously, the unhinged shit is to be expected - but funny.

We left things on good terms? Nah, I don’t think so. Because just when I think we’re good, you always manage to come up with something shitty. So I’m done with you, other than to tell you periodically to go fuck yourself.
Have a good rest of your day.
-
Basically, Spark, I hate you. That’s what I’m trying to point out. Go fuck yoursellf.
-
See you at your next funeral bud.
-
See you at your next funeral bud.
You’re not invited.
-
I was busy that day anyway.
-
Good. Probably shoving a dildo up your ass. Lol
-
Maybe so. No judgment if you're into that.
Have I mentioned how absolutely hilarious your profile picture is lately? It's a hoot.

The last thing you said to me before today:
"Anyway, best of luck with everything. I'm out."
The first thing you said to me today:
"Fuck off you piece of shit."
Just a chef's kiss.

Nope. Go fuck yourself.
-
Glad you’re back tho. Can’t wait to see you and Tempo bicker again. That’s so fucking fun.
-
Oh, so the Lying Piece of Crap is back. Awesome. Go Bears.
-
I still can’t believe we threw the ball 52 times today when the plan should should have been to run it 40x. Herbert is our best one cut runner and he barely got on the field.
-

True

Hamp and OB going nuts on personnel usage and play-calling in postgame. I agree.
-

I thought you thought they were meatheads?
-
I thought you thought they were meatheads?
Occasionally. They are right today. “You have 84 plays and you lose a football game!” - OB
“Where was Herbert?” - Hamp
-
He’s (Herbert) the best back that we have Dan! - OB
-
I do think Walden’s play calling and player usage is pretty fucked up.
-
I thought you thought they were meatheads?
They get meatbally, but it’s not like they don’t know anything. Especially something as obvious as the shitshow we saw today.
“It was criminal what went on today!” -OB lol
-
They’re already getting Tyson Bagent calls. SMH

I was going to say, they, like you, are wondering why Herbert is getting touches....
-
I was going to say, they, like you, are wondering why Herbert is getting touches....
I thought it seemed pretty obvious he should be a big part of the game plan. The coaches apparently disagreed. Here’s how I envisioned the carries.
Herbert 15-18
Swift 12-15
Roschon 6-10
-
Eh. I don’t know. I don’t know who could be effective running behind that line, other that Walter Payton or Barry Sanders.
Lack of PT for Khalil Herbert isn’t why they lost.
-
Lack of commitment to run I think is a big reason they lost.
-
Lack of commitment to run I think is a big reason they lost.
I agree with that. I just don’t think Khalil Herbert is the next coming of Saquon Barkley.
-
I don’t think Khalil Herbert is that good, to be honest.
-
When we start watching a game, and people are like “where the fuck is Khalil Herbert?!” that’s a testament of where this running game is.
Our line sucks and we don’t have a back that’s worth a shit. I was hoping Swift was the right pickup, but he’s not. Hell, he might be on his way to jail for some Philly bullshit he got into if I recall correctly.

Still waiting for Tempo to rip on Saint DJ Moore for leaving the end zone on the last play of the 1st half like he ripped on Mooney being unable to make a miraculous catch while falling backwards against the Brown.... Then again we know who threw the ball in the Brown game for the Bear....
-
Wow, just saw that the Colts had given up more rushing yards in a two game span than any team since 1978. And we threw it nearly 60 times.
-

Yeah pretty dumb game plan.
-
Tried to run. They can't run block. What games have you guys watched the past 2 weeks? They certainly did not run block very well today at the goal line, did they?
-
You cannot abandon the run in the NFL. Especially if your passing game sucks. Most of those yards were against soft defenses.
They also ran the wrong formations and used the wrong personnel. Any NFL veteran will tell you have to commit to the run and get your guys “lathered up.”
I kind of knew we might be fucked on the 2nd play of the game when Waldron threw from the shotgun on 2nd and 6. I was like “why?”
-
If we average 4 yards a run we win that game easy.
-

Fuck. That’s what the Bears are missing. If they would just get their heads out of their asses and hire Tempo, we would be Super Bowl bound.
-
If we average 4 yards a run we win that game easy.
If we average 4 yards per run, we win every game. We can’t do it with what we have.
We suck, Tempo. Sorry to break that to you. But we do.

I’m far from the only person saying this.

You’ve got to crawl before you can run. This offense needs to learn to run the ball (and commit to it) because they can’t put games on Caleb’s shoulders. He’s not ready.
-

They have not been able to the run the ball for 3 games.
-
I’m far from the only person saying this.
Well, yeah, I know that. You’re regurgitating other’s takes. It’s what you do.
Hell, you just said you were listening to Dan and OB. I figure that’s where the anger is coming from.
-
They have not been able to the run the ball for 3 games.
Khalil Herbert is the difference maker tho.
-
Doug Buffone used to talk about the importance of sticking to the run even if it wasn’t working. We ran 30 more plays than they did (and even had the better quarterback) and didn’t even feel like we were really in it the 2nd half. There’s nothing wrong with running the ball 3, 4, 5x in a row against a team that’s giving up yards in buckets. And again, personnel
usage and play-calling sucked.
-
Khalil Herbert is the difference maker tho.
He’d have done better then 20 yards on 13 carries.

And last year we had to listen to you lament the Bears for not letting Justin huck it down the field lol.
I can listen to sports radio if I choose to. I can also watch football and understand it.
-
When your offense is struggling, simplify things and run through the A and B gaps. Makes life simpler on the linemen. Rudimentary shit.

They were not giving up yards in buckets to the Bear running game though. They ran the ball 4 times at the goal line and we saw what happened.
I get it. But I thought they tried and realized it was not working as game planned.
-

Yeah, it’s super easy to run it up the middle with fucking Shelton and whoever the fuck our guards are lol. Jesus, man. If it’s so easy to run it up the middle why doesn’t everyone do it?
-
It would have taken 2 times getting their asses stuffed in there for you to come in and bitch about why they’re trying to run it in there. Fuck man
-
Run it in the A gap with Herbert. That will fix everything.
Jesus Christ.

Or drop back 60. As bad as this was this game could have been won on multiple plays.
-
Oh good. A Danny Parkins tweet. Thanks.
Has his show failed yet? I heard it isn’t doing great.
-
How the fuck are 4/5 linemen on the ground
After 3 running plays of getting zero push... Great job, Poles!

From shotgun.

I never said dropping back 60 was good. But we can’t run it either.
Again. We suck dick. Coaching, players. All of it. We suck again.
-
Or drop back 60. As bad as this was this game could have been won on multiple plays.
Yeah, like Lazy, Rich JD Moore STAYING in the end zone on the last play at the half.
-
Yeah, like Lazy, Rich JD Moore STAYING in the end zone on the last play at the half.
That would have been helpful
-
Just run it into the A gap. What the fuck.
-
From shotgun.
Does it make a difference if he is in shotgun whether they get push or not? They don't get any push regardless of whether he is under center or not.
-
“into the A gap” hehehe, huhuhuh

Yeah huh huh. Gap. Huh huh
-
I never said dropping back 60 was good. But we can’t run it either.
Again. We suck dick. Coaching, players. All of it. We suck again.
I’d like to see us commit to the run. Especially against a team giving up yards on the ground in record numbers. You can’t air it out with your shitty passing game just because you haven’t been very successful on the ground. Did we run back to back plays from under center today? I’m not sure. Couldn’t have been often if we did. Most RBs hate running out of Shotgun.
-
They prefer to get a running start.
-
So don’t run it, but don’t throw it 60 times either. What’s your solution?
-
Makes me want to run it right into the A gap lol. Nothing says run the ball quite like linemen on their asses.
😂 herbert woulda been fine dude
-
They prefer to get a running start.
I get that the RBs do, but what does that have to do with the OL getting push?
-
At least 70% of the problem here I’m convinced is scheme/coaching/play-calling.
-
At least 70% of the problem here I’m convinced is scheme/coaching/play-calling.
Ok, fine. Let's accept that premise. How is running the ball 60 times going to work when the coaching/scheme sucks?
-
So don’t run it, but don’t throw it 60 times either. What’s your solution?
Well, maybe try for some balance to keep the defense off balance?
It’s tough when your line is inept.

Again, smart football people talk about getting “lathered up.” Which means getting physical and getting into a rhythm. Hard to do in finesse football when you have people who apparently aren’t good at finesse football. Plus, you’re putting more pressure on your rookie QB. Kreutz talks about it all the time. Line up and go man on man. It’s hard to get into a rhythm when your offense isn’t proficient in all the “timing” stuff.
-
😂 herbert woulda been fine dude
Oh. Yeah, I forgot we have a hidden gem here. We’re just not using him.
-
Again, smart football people talk about getting “lathered up.” Which means getting physical and getting into a rhythm.
They were not doing that for 3 plays at the goal line?
-

Smart football people use terms like “lathered up” to get dumb Bears fans riled up lol.
Surely Olin knows we can’t do shit with this line. It’s a problem.
-
Olin also said Cody Whitehair was good.... Because Whitehair was paying him for training.

God damn. ESPN really does suck.

Sounds more like something gay football people would say
-
Tempo, are you suggesting that if they lined Williams up under center for the 3 preceding plays they would have blown the Colt DL off the line?
-
Well, maybe try for some balance to keep the defense off balance?
It’s tough when your line is inept.
They’re inept largely because they ar being poorly coached and asked to do things they aren’t yet good at IMO. Again, they could run block last year just fine.
-
Tempo, are you suggesting that if they lined Williams up under center for the 3 preceding plays they would have blown the Colt DL off the line?
One out of 3 plays probably could have made it into the end zone IMO.
-
RBs don’t like starting from a static position, and it’s not conducive to power football.
-
They’re inept largely because they ar being poorly coached and asked to do things they aren’t yet good at IMO. Again, they could run block last year just fine.
So you are praising Getsy now?

Sounds more like something gay football people would say
Did you just call Doug Buffone gay? Be thankful he’s not alive to wring your neck!
-
They’re inept largely because they ar being poorly coached and asked to do things they aren’t yet good at IMO. Again, they could run block last year just fine.
Well, they’re NFL players. You’re telling me that they can’t play unless a coach is telling him how at this point?
Maybe they just suck. Maybe they didn’t improve from last year. Sure it could be coaching, but I have to believe players also have to be responsible for shitty play as well. It’s not fucking high school.
-
RBs don’t like starting from a static position, and it’s not conducive to power football.
What does that necessarily have to do with blowing people off the line?
-
So you are praising Getsy now?
No, he was terrible, too. But at least they ran the ball well under him. Maybe a lot of that was thanks to Justin.
-
What does that necessarily have to do with blowing people off the line?
You truly don’t understand football, do you.
-
RBs don’t like starting from a static position, and it’s not conducive to power football.
Uhhh what? Please explain. RBs have to be set prior to the snap right? What the fuck are you talking about exactly?
-
No, he was terrible, too. But at least they ran the ball well under him. Maybe a lot of that was thanks to Justin.
There it is. Knew it was going to come out.
Yes, they blocked better since Fields was the QB. LOL
-
Certainly not a power run game.
-
No, he was terrible, too. But at least they ran the ball well under him. Maybe a lot of that was thanks to Justin.
I didn’t see Justin blocking anyone
-

I need an explanation here
-
You truly don’t understand football, do you.
I am wondering what you think you are arguing here.
You are arguing that lining up under center means they will get more push.
But what I think you are actually saying is that the RB getting a running start before getting the ball gives the RB a better chance of bulldozing his way into the endzone regardless of the OL push. They are not the same though.
-
Certainly not a power run game.
Please explain power run blocking vs. a zone blocking scheme. And don’t use google. I’ll know if you’re cheating
-
I didn’t see Justin blocking anyone
He blocked the Bear from being able to win.
-

Oh. I get it now.
He’s talking about running forward while getting the handoff.
I can actually understand where the RB might hit the hole harder there. But if there’s no fucking hole, what’s the difference.
-
I need an explanation here
It’s easier to hit the hole and run with power if you’ve got a running start. Not sure why this is complicated. It’s common knowledge power running is better from under center. Makes timing things up simpler.
-

But if there is no hole, there is no hole. As Jobu said. There are no holes.
-

Well, offenses can be effective doing both. And again, if your line sucks dick and can’t “power run block”, which they’ve shown that they can’t, then it doesn’t matter.
-
Oh. I get it now.
He’s talking about running forward while getting the handoff.

There’s a reason it’s called power run game. A lot easier to run a guy over with a head of steam. Shotgun is basically a delayed handoff. Unless you’re extremely proficient at it it sucks for goal line and short yardage.
-

All of which has nothing to do with the fact that the line cannot open holes or drive defenders back.

I’d love to see them try it 3 or 4 plays in a row. Don’t think we have. Two would be a rarity I bet. Again, when they went to shotgun on 2nd down after a solid 4 yard gain to start the game, I thought we might be in for a long day.
-
WTF RUN THE BALL
This was my reaction to passing out of shotgun on 2nd play of the game on 2nd and medium.
-
This was my reaction to passing out of shotgun on 2nd play of the game on 2nd and medium.
2nd play of the game. And you’re screaming and throwing a fit because they’re not doing what you want.
That’s weird.
-
All of which has nothing to do with the fact that the line cannot open holes or drive defenders back.
Again, you understand nothing about line play. They prefer to run a finesse offense. Have we seen them run from under center twice in a row? I’ll bet not more than 2-3 times in 3 games.
-
Walk before you run. Commit to running the ball from under center and work from there. You ain’t shit if you can’t or WON’T run some power football.
-
2nd play of the game. And you’re screaming and throwing a fit because they’re not doing what you want.
That’s weird.
I understood what was going on. And what was about to happen.
-
Again, you understand nothing about line play. They prefer to run a finesse offense. Have we seen them run from under center twice in a row? I’ll bet not more than 2-3 times in 3 games.
What the fuck is a finesse offense? I swear to god I’ve never heard that.
Dude, again, without googling, talk to me about power football vs zone blocking. Hell, throw in zone reads, RPOs and options if you want. Explain since you’re so fucking smart.
Actually, one question. RPO, single back. Who is the QB reading? When does he hand it off and when does he throw it?
-
I don’t remember screaming or throwing a fit. I did write words, though.
-
Jesus Christ, you’ve never heard of a finesse offense? No wonder I’m wasting my time.
-
Again, you understand nothing about line play. They prefer to run a finesse offense. Have we seen them run from under center twice in a row? I’ll bet not more than 2-3 times in 3 games.
Like you do? Didn't Herbert run it inside the 3 preceding plays?
-
Jesus Christ, you’ve never heard of a finesse offense? No wonder I’m wasting my time.
LOL. The reverse is what is happening here
-
Walk before you run. Commit to running the ball from under center and work from there. You ain’t shit if you can’t or WON’T run some power football.
We can’t block like that. We suck at blocking up front straight up. That dline, basically any Dline in the league will take all of our linemen on, shove them backwards, and linebackers will set records on tackles.
Defenses want the Bears to try to run. Then when they can’t, the ball is in Caleb’s hands, and that’s fine with them too.
-
Like you do? Didn't Herbert run it inside the 3 preceding plays?
At the goal line, and I believe from shotgun. The goal line is different. Notice the trickery on 4th down got blown up badly.

I’ve never heard it called that. I’ve heard zone blocking, zone reads, west coast. Dink and dunk. I’ve never heard the term finesse offense.

I’d like to see us commit to it for a few series before making that determination. Give me one quarter…

Yes,.because the Colt apparently were not in the formation they expected and Williams did not want to check out of it since the play clock was winding down.
-
Here, Jobu.

Ok. Never heard it called that. My bad. I knew what you meant tho.
-
They literally can’t run 3 plays without at least one of them being in shotgun.
-
I’d like to see us commit to it for a few series before making that determination. Give me one quarter…
We can’t run power with that line. We just can’t dude.
-
I still do not understand what you have seen in these 3 games to make you think this line can move D linemen around. They didn't do it in the preseason either.
-
We can’t run power with that line. We just can’t dude.
Well we cant do it the other way so……
-
They literally can’t run 3 plays without at least one of them being in shotgun.
Have you seen an NFL team run 3 plays in a row not in shotgun this year? I don’t think I have.
It’s a passing league
-
They need to play more from under center.
-
Well we cant do it the other way so……
That’s what I’ve been saying. We’re fucked.

Crawl. Walk. Run.

They can’t.
-
“Lather up their A hole”
Hehehe huhuhuh
-
If you can’t do the fancy stuff, you revert back to the basics until you can. The run play from under center is the most basic play in football. And also sets up play-action.
-
I’d like to see us commit to it for a few series before making that determination. Give me one quarter…
Great, another wait until October 6th despite what we have seen from these starters?
Did you ever stop to think that Waldron already knows this line can't push people around?
-
They can’t.
I’m not convinced I’ve seen them try that hard.
-
Crawl. Walk. Run.
lol, ok. Yeah, they’re not built to play power football. Has nothing to do with crawl walk run. They can’t block like that. They can’t block period.
Linebackers will murder every skill player we have if we try that shit.
-
I’m not convinced I’ve seen them try that hard.
Because they can’t fucking do it. Lol
-
The Chiefs seem to be able to push people around running out of the shotgun

NFL defenses are good. And they are fast. If we try power and can’t block it up, which they can’t, they won’t respect any kind of play action. Because they’re not worried about the run.
You have to succeed at running to get play action. This line can’t block like that.

Isn't he coaching HS football?
-
He never said try to run power football tho.
-
Isn't he coaching HS football?
He coaches the DBs for a catholic school that recruits from a population of 8 million and plays in like 3a and 4a and destroys downstate teams in the playoffs.
So, yeah. Basically.
-
Isn't he coaching HS football?
Yeah, he only spent 7-8 years in the NFL on modest talent. He doesn’t know shit I’m sure. Maybe he WANTS to coach HS football. Seems like he’s happy being an analyst and doing that.
-
He never said try to run power football tho.
You can even read it as rejecting trying a "power" running game as the term has been used here.

Sounds like he is talking finesse football not smashmouth football like you have suggested.

PAMan seems to be implying since he’s not on a higher level he must be uninformed. If he was on national TV or coaching, he’d call him an idiot just the same. PAMan does it to everyone who doesn’t fit his narrative.
-

Did he say for Caleb to line up under center, and line up and play smash mouth power football? I didn’t see that.
I read the words that are printed.

Formations (probably not shotgun). Personnel (probably not Swift). Not tough math here.
-
You can still run the ball up the middle with a guy in motion…helps to clear out a defender.
-

"Motion" conveniently omitted from your post.

It appears to suggest a need for chicanery...

Look, our offensive line has been awful, no doubt. But Waldron/Flus aren’t doing anything to put them in a better position to succeed. And airing it out ain’t it. Especially with no Keenan Allen.
-
You’d be hard pressed to find a football expert who thinks “throwing it more” helps Caleb Williams.
-
Or the Bears at this point.
-

Pick your poison: A. Third and Long or B. Throwing 52 times.
We saw A quite a bit the 1st 2 games when trying to run the ball, didn't we?

No shit Sherlock.

Yes. Do the Bears?
What is zone blocking?

I’ll give you a hint. It’s not power football.

Letting Swift dominate the carries was not the answer. He’s not that guy. Good receiver, though.
-
They should have abandoned the Swift led run game no later than 2nd series in the 3rd quarter.
-
I lost track, but I counted a minimum of 57 plays from the shotgun (could have been well over 60). About the only time we ran back to back plays not out of shotgun one of the runs went for 8 yards. Probably our longest of the day. I think we ran the ball back to back from under center once.

Interesting side note on Matt Bowen. He was selected with the 198th pick in the 2000 NFL draft. One pick before Tom Brady.
-
And when I say “power run game,” I mean from under center where the back can get a head of steam. There’s nothing “power” or “powerful” about running out of shotgun. I don’t claim to be super knowledgeable of the variations of blocking schemes they employ or don’t employ. They took the wrong approach today, plain and simple.

Before yesterday I was semi-confident in Eberflus (and willing to be patient on Waldron). My patience and belief took a huge hit yesterday. Going to take a win streak to get me back on board.
As Kyle Brandt said a little bit ago “just stack wins!” This is definitely stacking wins season.
-
This season was kinda a toss up. I’m ok with whatever and good draft picks. Next year is the year I expect playoffs and a great team. A QB in his rookie season is a whatever happens happens season in my opinion.

And, why were you even semi-confident in Eberlose? That he slayed some bums the end of last year? Joe Flacco excepted, of course....

I do think that’s pretty fair, but I also think it’s reasonable to think the Bears should be ahead of schedule. I mean they were three losses in games they had a 96% chance of winning away from finishing 10-7 last year, and theoretically had signicant upgrades. If Flus isn’t at least 9-8 he should be gone IMO. And actually id say he probably needs to make the playoffs unless there are highly unusual circumstances.

Even Payton Manning sucked his rookie season…

He wasn’t “given the best situation for a #1 rookie QB ever.”
And as rough as things have been, I don’t blame either loss directly on Caleb. I think Waldron is the bigger problem. And probably Flus because Flus can’t let Waldron be a disaster like that. I don’t expect Flus to call plays, but he can oversee personnel
and dictate game plans.

Well we obviously see that might’ve been a myth. I.e. the OL…

Wrong fucking thread

This was only said by Twotter Morons (redundant, I know)....

You are seeking to spoil his narrative....

It’s not a myth. Which #1 has been given a “better situation?” Bryce Young? Lol

Explain to me how an entire offensive line of 24-25 year olds gets worse despite getting upgrades at multiple positions. Other than theories like “they don’t work hard.”

Well, it seems to me that they like to take offseasons off. I don't know. 2 years in a row, the fucking line has been decimated by injuries before the first game.
That's probably the coaching staff's fault tho, lol. And again, I think the coaching staff sucks.
-

Reality has shown that they are far worse and that the "upgrades" may not be upgrades after all. I mean, we have seen it the past 3 games. You can ask all the questions you want, rely on whatever narratives you want, but the facts are the facts.

Coleman Shelton fucking sucks. I don't know if it's poor effort, or if he's just bad. But he's always getting pushed backward, and picking himself up off the ground.
And Tempo wants to run through the A-hole with that guy blocking. Lol

its hilarious, he's so good at helping caleb williams get up after each play, and that's about it

First sentence seems iffy at best. Second one seems spot on.

He gets pushed back in pass blocking a lot. This past week seemed better. Didn’t hear his name much. I’m not sure how he looks moving forward. Two very different types of blocking. He was good enough in LA that the Rams re-signed him and he was a two-year starter there. He’s 29, not old, not young either.

And they let him leave despite having no linemen.

They have no linemen because they are hurt. And again, they re-signed him and started him the last two years.
-
No one is making the case he’s an All-Pro caliber player, but he was at least considered serviceable.
-
Well, he fucking sucks now.

Haha, I do actually. Just never heard the terminology. I told you that last night you fucking retard.
I’m done talking to you. You’re just a miserable fuck that really doesn’t know shit.
Get in your fucking Uber and make a few dollars. Dipshit.

Nah. Although I did see something about 10 dollar tickets and 10 dollar parking. Lol

I've been thinking about this. I am interested in seeing the Bears trying to play with Caleb under center, and running power concepts. Tempo is probably right. They need to try something different. Who am I to say what might work or what might not. Maybe we'll see what happens if they actually do try it. I don't feel great about it, but I also probably should just agree with Tempo that something has to change.
-
They can’t run the way you want them to.

Good post!

Yeah, keep dunking on me. Have fun. Again, I was initially wrong. I'm manning up to it. But, go ahead and keep going. I know you need that.
-

Relax. I actually felt a little bad after I read the last post in this thread after posting that. I give you props for admitting you were wrong. Doesn’t happen often here.
-
I'm perfectly relaxed. I'm comfortable enough in my own skin to admit when I'm wrong. If you want to keep bringing it up from now to the end of time, do it. I really don't care.
-
I'm pretty much over it anyway. Again, have fun dunking on me. Just keep up with the spongebob shit and whatever else. I'm a big boy, I can take it. Enjoy.
-
This is why I hate football season here. Seriously. I'm done.
-
Naw, I think it’s been covered enough. Again, kudos for just admitting you were wrong.
-
This is why I hate football season here. Seriously. I'm done.
30 seconds before this you said you can take it. Are you done, or can you take it? Pick a lane.
-
Again, I've admitted I've been wrong more than once on here. And I'm sure you'll bring it up pretty much continuously. Because I know you.
-
I just want you to pick a lane.
-
30 seconds before this you said you can take it. Are you done, or can you take it? Pick a lane.
I don't know. I'm not sure it's worth it. If I make a mistake, it will be magnified. If you make a mistake, you'll move the goalpost and argue to the death against what you originally said. Basically, I don't know if I want to go through another whole football season here with this bullshit.
I was wrong, Tempo. I was. It happens. I admit when I'm wrong.
-
Ok, you want me to pick a lane? I'm done. I am not happy talking about football with you. I'm done. There. Happy?
-
I have found myself largely agreeable with you, and a lot of what you have said has made sense to me. Now, you're celebrating the fact that I admitted I was wrong about something. I'm over it. I'm "picking a lane."
-
It sucks. I enjoy talking about and watching football. But I'm not going to do it on here anymore. It's just not worth it.
-
I’d rather you stay. But hey, you won’t see me threatening to leave next time I get my balls busted. I get my balls busted here by several of you every day. But I can take it.
To this day I have 6 people badgering me about things I never actually said about Justin Fields.
-

When is the last time I busted your balls about anything? I just admitted to you that I was wrong, and you were right, and you kept hammering me. I was fucking wrong, Tempo. I'm saying it again. I've been largely supportive of your viewpoints lately. Hell, you actually quoted when I said maybe you were right about the power run stuff. But you still couldn't wait to shit on me. That sucks.
As far as what others are saying to you, what does that have to do with me? Again, look back. I've been supportive of you. And you're basically shitting on me today.
-
This is what is disappointing and making me kinda pissed. I've tried to be nice to Tempo and support some of his viewpoints, and he couldn't wait to do the gotcha bullshit.
Man, I don't know. Again, I love talking football. But I don't love this.
-
And, on top of it all, I'm getting a fucking sore throat and starting to feel like shit, and I have a lot to do for work, and I'm going to Florida next week to check on relatives when I don't really have time, and I'm basically just over a lot of fucking bullshit.
FUCK.
-
I just want you to pick a lane.
Like "It's a week-to-week league" but dunking on someone because the Bear were able, only in the second half against the Ram, run the ball?
-
Yeah, I'm about to lose it. For real.
-
It doesn't matter. I admitted I was wrong. It's done. I fucking admitted it.
-
When is the last time I busted your balls about anything?
Probably about 3-4 days ago. And I don’t think you posted the last 2.
I did not go on and on about it. I made like two posts. I even said I felt bad about posting about it when I saw the last comment you made from a week or so ago.
-
When I said “good post!” I meant it seriously. Was nice of you to post that.

3-4 days ago. Hmmm. I would love to see that, because I don't think that's true.
You didn't feel bad about shit. You just wanted to dunk on my ass. Even when I came back and allowed that I could certainly be wrong. Then when I was, you had to just fucking go for it.
Well, good. I'm glad, actually. You needed this. Enjoy.
-

I've been looking. Sep. 25 was when we were talking about your son's clock and how cool it was. That's 5 days ago. I'm pretty sure I've been nice to you and not been an asshole to you for several days before that.
It's whatever. I've tried really hard actually to not be a dick. It doesn't matter apparently.
