this is some wack shit.

I work with some of the smartest people in the world, PhD's in all sorts of arcane number theory and other wild stuff. Hell, I have a masters degree in EE with a focus on statistics. Throw in various people I interact with in my day to day life, my son's schools have had a lot of people with double digit employee numbers at Google/Facebook/etc...

The people being accused of running all these grand conspiracies are substantially dumber than the people I run with. And the people I run with know that even really smart people could not pull of the conspiracies being bandied about. I mean, Donald Trump Jr? Alex Jones? These guys can figure out the basics of grifting some really dumb people, but the conspiracies we here about are just nuts, impossible to pull off and even harder to hide.

I will say though, entirely plausible that when we say "what is Putin's end game here" - he's getting the exact end game he wants. Invading Ukraine - and making the invasion a clumsy protracted shit show - is perfect for pretty much causing chaos worldwide. If he wanted to "invade" the US, the simplest way would be to invade Ukraine, disrupt the oil markets, and then disrupt the grain markets, and let the blame game start in the west over inflation.

Sprecher is a Wisconsin thing so I’d think it should be around MN as well. Every Menards I’ve ever been in has had it along with all the other flavors of Sprecher pop. If you strike out at Menards I’ll send you some. 😬

While I find that interesting, most people do not. It's easier to try and divert attention to other relevant concerns: January 6, Roe V Wade, gun violence ...

I get you are being sarcastic, but Manchin voted for both stimulus acts that passed. The build back better act he vetoed had provisions to help with supply.

It is demonstrably true that supply chain inflation is global and was triggered by the post covid lock down recovery. That is transient, but could take a long time to recover.

The US had auto inflation, both new and used,  that did not affect Asia or Europe to the same extent because they have decent public transportation.

The US had had huge wage inflation in the service / hospitality sector. A doubling. The rest of the developed world already paid living wages.

Oh, they didn't have the same massive CARES ACT or the American Rescue Plan in Japan or Europe? Didn't they already have better social insurance programs in place?

That explains why our inflation was ahead of Europe and Asia. Now, they have virtually caught up thanks to Putin's war.

Of course the right wing is blaming the poor and government relief programs for inflation. And the corporate media is coming around.
