Trump and Elmo are draining the swamp. A low level Customs and Borders director has been charged with stealing 2 months rent from FEMA and lying about it to the FBI.

The Director was approved for assistance to repair water damage to her basement. She also indicated her home was uninhabited and was granted 2 months money for rent and utility assistance. Evidence gathered by the FBI indicates she and husband still lived in the home. Bank records indicate the money was not used for rent. When interviewed by the FBI, she denied any wrongdoing.

actual fraud waste and abuse. This shit does happen.

Who figured it out? Elon - or the FBI, which we are going to dismantle?

Guessing Ray also supports the $900 or less “it’s not a crime” theft laws they’ve implemented on the Murph coast.

You support defunding the people who uncovered this shit. Like firing people at the IRS in charge of catching tax cheats.

If you think taxation is theft, don't fire the IRS. Have congress eliminate the income tax. But you see, the GOP isn't against the income tax, they are against being taxed personally. So it's better to keep the income tax, tax the suckers, then cheat on the taxes and fire the IRS agents.

Those vegetable farmers you were talking about in eastern K3 county hire a lot of a season migrant labor. One of the farmers once showed me the social security information one of the migrants had given him when he started working there. The number on it was 123-45-6789.

Your story always goes "he didn't know" or "there was nothing he could do about it". Bullshit.

I have a gardener who was born in Mexico, who takes care of a lot of our yard as a side hustle. No - I didn't vet his SSN.

What I did do, was rely on the vetting of Ferrari-Carano vineyards, where he has worked for 20 years. Ferrari-Carano is owned by Bill Foley (owner of the Vegas Knights), who has donated massive amounts to Trump. Surely Bill Foley would not be in violation of the law?

Winery was previously owned by Gary Carano, uncle of Gina Carano, noted wingnut. But at least Gary Carano took care of his workers. Foley sounds like a major dick. Been great for me as my guy has more availability and needs to hustle more because Foley cut his overtime, and Carano also owned a bunch of local housing stock that he let his workers use for free as in kind compensation, Foley started charging them rent.

I have heard gossip that some of the factories have poor attendance on certain days. Then ICE coincidentally shows up.

but what would the guy with SSN 123-456-7890 have to worry about? If Custard thinks those farmers don't know the workers are illegal, I have a bridge to sell him. It's painted International Orange - very Illini

Your takeaway was that the farmer didn’t know the employee’s social security info was bogus? He showed it to me specifically because he knew it was BS and thought it was funny.

You guys say that they need to crack down on employers, but if they need labor, these illegals can provide it for the right price, and they are able to meet documentation requirements, what employer is going to blow the whistle on themselves? The government clearly doesn’t care, why should they?

As always with you guys, the people that are here illegally using falsified documents to get jobs are the good guys. Local people trying to run a family business and meet regulation requirements are the bad guys.

If the people here illegally are the bad guys, why isn't your buddy the farmer calling ICE?

More to the point, why didn't YOU call ICE on them?

nod nod, wink wink. Like calling hush money / nda payments legal expenses. Or tax free perks. Or paying student athletes back before it was legal. Or dare I say fudging  fema apps?

I don’t think everyone that comes across illegally is a bad person. I suspect the vast majority of the ones that come here for work are good people, and it’s good for us to have their labor. Have never really been concerned about it in the past.

I do think what’s happened the last several years has been a complete debacle, and a lot of bad people have come across that shouldn’t be here. Glad we are at least making an attempt to send that faction back and bust up the cartels.

If Trump wants to pivot away from Stephen Miller's nonsense and focus on criminal gangs; I can support that to an extent.

The biggest problem with the right wing is they think they can get rid of demand by disrupting the supply.

I haven’t seen them flying planes full of maids and dry wallers and roofers back, have you? Seems to have been pretty laser focused on the worst elements that have entered the country, which is something I think we would all support. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Disrupting supply has been the strategy by both sides for pretty much forever until the torrent that flowed across the past several years. Not just on border crossings, but drugs, etc. Obviously with mixed results, but I don’t think an open border with no ramifications for entering is the answer either, just like it wasn’t the answer for Portland to legalize hard drugs.

I just said the exact opposite.

Trump ran on Stephen Miller's idiotic plan to deport everyone here illegally, including farm workers, etc..

If Trump wants to pivot to going after gangs, I tend to support that.

I don't think the libertarian approach of just legalizing vices is the answer. I am not even that big fan of legalized gambling.

I understand where you are going. Trump is using some obscured wartime law to deport gang members without due process. He ignored court orders to stop it.

Anyone who says he should not violate due process rights and should obey court orders is accused of arguing on behalf of gang members.

I have no sympathy for the gang members. I would stil be cautious about this kind of reasoning.

Bad facts make bad law. It is coming in this instance.
