It's being hyped on the right as rooting out deep state corruption. I first came across this story in blog that bragged about how Trump is ignoring lower court orders.

From the NYT

"FEMA approved funds for the repairs as well as two months of rental assistance, specifying the money was to be used for rent and essential utility costs while she was in temporary housing, according to the criminal complaint. The complaint said she received about $6,300 from the agency."

It doesn't say how much of that was for repairs and how much was for rent.

I am glad they are focusing efforts on 55 year old black women in low level manageable positions receiving questionable chump change.

"Ms. Baker-Hill, 55, is a career customs employee and the director of an agency center focused on the automotive and aerospace industries."

The FBI was apparently looking at other things when they became suspicious of Baker-Hill.

Perhaps her agency was investigating automotive and aerospace contracts?

A director of a governmental agency had to actually apply for the funds, from another governmental agency, before the funds could be approved.

I don't know how much of the whopping  6300 was for rent, but it will take a lot of those to balance the budget. I am guessing the cost of the investigation exceeds that.

At this point, they haven't decided whether to even seek an indictment, or if so, if it would be a felony or a misdemeanor. They did put on her on unpaid administrative leave.

I thought it was innocent until proven guilty. Or in Trump's case, innocent even after proven guilty. This woman hasn't even been indicted, and they're parading with her head on a spike.

The thing is,  Elon has been boasting about uncovering billions in fraud, and this is all they have? Where are the indictments for big $$$ fraud?

after all these years, still, nobody is cracking down on employers who illegally hire undocumented workers. It's like the way a lot things work; nod nod, wink wink.

Not that I agree with Obama, or Trump, or Biden. I would start by decriminalizing simple unlawful entry. Make it equal to a parking ticket. Then set something up so x number of migrants can work here legally with some form of a tax ID. Determine the number by assessing the need.

I sort of agree with Trump on taking an aggressive approach against the gangs and Cartels.

Those vegetable farmers you were talking about in eastern K3 county hire a lot of a season migrant labor. One of the farmers once showed me the social security information one of the migrants had given him when he started working there. The number on it was 123-45-6789.
