If you know Fields isn’t the guy after this season, you absolutely trade him for whatever you can get and draft a new QB. No way you give him a new contract if he doesn’t improve drastically throwing the ball.

Judge Judy, appreciate the post, but let's stick to the draft and who may be dark horse guys taken.

Care to comment on McCarthy? Anyone else out there you see as a dark horse top draft pick for the Bear?
Mark Carman: "The Whitlock!...Caleb Williams failed Wayne Whitlock." Been told I need to take my dick out my mouth so maybe I "wont [sic] sound like such a fucking faggot all the time[.]"

Tempo: "PAMan is a pot stirrer and agent provocateur"

Oh my bad.

No I don’t like McCarthy. If Fields doesn’t work out this year and you can’t get Williams, I don’t know about Maye. Trubiskyish and risky written all over it/him. Even if Williams doesn’t work out, he’s considered a “can’t-miss QB.” Price too high, roll with Fields for the final year of his contract (it’s not after this year is it?) and shoot for 2025 while filling other holes in the roster.

What do you not like about McCarthy? Don't know much about him other than he is a local kid. Obviously saw him against the Illini last year. Pretty sure he lit up tO$U. For whatever that is worth. I read somewhere that he was someone who seemingly has gotten better every step of the way.

Let’s see how he does this year. I don’t like when QB’s aren’t good at processing reads/blitzes/etc…

That’s probably one of the top things you want a QB to be able to do. Look at all the successful ones and that’s what you see.

I do agree he has a lot of upside and has the size too. Just wanna see another year I guess.

Wow. Who do those scouts like?

Drake Maye has been compared to Robert Griffith III by some scouts. Which who knows what that even means due to his career-ending injury and never getting to see what he might’ve been.

Pennix has reminded me of Randall Cunningham in that his throwing motion just looks very effortless. If that makes any sense.

I’d steer away from Penix Jr just due to the injury problems, age, and is a 5th-year Senior with one healthy/good season. If he was a Sophomore that was healthy he would probably be rated higher than Williams.

What is The Twitter saying about him?

How the fuck would I know?
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

Definitely something to watch for this upcoming season.

Then why were you, initially, upset with the Bear draft? Just the positions they took? You don't know who any of these guys are.

I don’t remember being “upset” with the Bear draft. I only questioned the return for the 10th pick. And I also questioned the Roschon Johnson pick, but it’s a 4th rounder so not a big deal. Plus after reading the reviews on Johnson I felt better about it after the fact.

That doesn’t mean I keep up on JJ McCarthy tweets.

I know how to read a scouting report.
