Laughable.

Crazy shit.
We went the whole season without any PG it turned out who could actually pass, shoot the 3, or run a basic PnR.
My God- play fucking Rodgers and backup with DGL and Moretti and we are still way ahead.
We are a ranked #26 in Torvak without a PG.

If we'd gone 0/3 and were looking at a terrible roster I can see losing it a little bit, but..

We were ranked 50 on Torvak at end of season. We have added a lot of decent players.
Find anybody to bring the ball up without tripping over themselves ,and run a a PnR,and shoot enough that they have to guard him and we should be Top 20.

I’m seeing a lot of people acting like we should’ve cut ties with RayJ a couple weeks ago, or that we should've taken Caleb Love who would've been a true, true disaster.

I’m sure that’d have gone over well.

It’s legitimately insane given that while it sucks, it’s also coming on the heels of two very very positive announcements for the program.
It's unhinged. I would've considered firing Underwood after season 2 and at halftime of the Loyola game and I'm...not sure he's even approaching the hot seat currently?

We have a 2nd year Harris, the one freshman,  Morretti, and multiple wings who can temporarily handle the ball. We should get someone else in who's stable but it's a tourney roster as is. Hell, if you roll out Shannon, Harmon, Domask, Rogers, and Hawkins you've got 5 guys who can at least function as ball handlers short term.

We have a full 2-deep and no team in the conference can press a full game. We'll be fine.

It's crazy talk. We added a lot of key pieces. Ton of legit depth.
Play Rodgers and Harmon at point if we have to.

I will say, if Josh Whitman really would consider Underwood's seat even one degree warmer for getting Shannon and Hawkins back and not getting Dennis, then Whitman isn't the right guy at all.

I sincerely doubt he thinks that way, though.

No, I'd sure hope not. If the season goes off the rails, fine, but multiple tourneys in a row and having your 2 best players back with some decent prospects incoming? Lol why?

Well, we got a point guard.

Looks like he was pretty solid as a freshman at Temple and pretty bad as a sophomore.  Then transferred to Iowa State and tore his achilles before he played.

Tempo, any pictures of this Simeon product with Illini garb on posted on his MySpace Wall?

Welp, let's hope he gets the full Fletch treatment on that Achilles. That's a tough injury to rehab and come back to 100%.

I don't know if bad is word I would use.   His efficiency ratings for both years on both offense and defense were over 100.   That's solid. Not a 3 baller or free throw shooter but does the rest just fine.  Key will be coming off an injury and layoff.

I'm pretty comfortable saying that someone who shot 42/23/63 had a bad year.  People last year acted like Hawkins, Epps, Clark, Harris etc. were horrible shooters and they were all considerably better in terms of shooting efficiency.  His ORtg his last year playing would've been 9th on our team last season and our fans acted like it was the worst offensive team in history.  His TS% and eFG would've been 10th (excluding Lieb).

He was notably better as a freshman though, and have heard he's a plus defender.

If Williams can get healthy he is decent backup.
They are supposedly going to crean someone and add another guard.
My guess is Moretti is gone.
