You want me to say “he was bad” in a game where the entire team was thoroughly outclassed and it was over at halftime. Sure thing, Bud. He was bad.
Yes, I want you to acknowledge when he is bad without making a dozen excuses and saying that the entire team was to blame for his own, personal play. It's hard to take someone's view on a player seriously when he flatly refuses to acknowledge that the player deserves blame when he personally plays poorly. Like if how he plays doesn't matter, then this discussion is obviously never going to get anywhere - "he should be accountable
for his own play" is the absolute baseline. I've obviously acknowledged that he's occasionally been good, and I think he deserves some credit for that - it's kind of hard to continue discussing when you can't even acknowledge that base level of accountability for someone's own, personal play.
I don't think that was that much to ask for, and despite you still only saying it like a smartass I appreciate you being willing to at least give lip service to the notion that maybe he should have some tiny amount of accountability for his own play. Even though you clearly don't really mean it and think everyone else is to blame for Fields' own play.
