So I’m listening to conservative talk radio The Score and Mark Grote said “if you take a cornerback at 9 that position would be settled for the next 3-5 years.” You guys think he was making fun of me?

I like it. Agree with the comment the Bears need people who can make "game changing plays." Try and find a trade down partner, draft DL and OL 2nd round. And I'm fairly confident they can get a starter quality OT after cap cuts. Or they even have the capital to trade for an elite tackle. Left or right. This is the upside of having lots of picks and money. Oh, and fuck Ryan Pace.

They need an OT to protect the qb. If this one doesn't work out, they'll still need an OT to protect the next one.
Maybe package 2 later picks to get a DL with the 2nd pick.
Draft for need rather than hoping to pick up a serviceable OT later or thru other means than the draft.

If only they had other draft picks, cap casualties coming up, or trade possibilities in a long-term rebuild. Poles is under a lot of pressure to complete the entire rebuild in one draft class and one free agency period…
