So Judge Judy is the only one “with a guy?”

PAMan? What’s your wishlist?

OL or DL. Actually both.

I don't follow the mocks to know who is who.

If the NU guy has alligator arms, the TN dude manhandled Anderson in their game. So there is him, I guess. Is there someone who manhandled Carter?

If you want to maximize value, you take the best player at the highest paid position.

LT, CB, QB.  One of those 3.

I feel like there’s almost no way Carter falls to 9, but Joe Ostrowski just said Carter is the betting favorite to go at 9. So that’s interesting.
"He commented more than once that, 'You know, Hitler did some good things, too,'" Kelly recalled to The Times. Kelly said he would usually quash the conversation by saying "nothing (Hitler) did, you could argue, was good," but that Trump would occasionally bring up the topic again.

I would also add pass rusher

I don't follow college football much at all, but I've seen a whole lot of people comparing Carter to Donald.

Someone that actually follows this closely - if those two guys are at all comparable, why is their production not?  For a dude with that kind of hype, Carter's actual production seems very pedestrian to me.  Donald had more TFL and twice as many sacks in his first two seasons as Carter has in three.  Then as a junior, Donald basically matched Carter's entire career in those stats in one season (same number of TFL, 0.5 less sack) and as a senior he far surpassed Carter's career stats (28.5 TFL Donald's senior year vs. 18.5 in Carter's three years; 11 sacks Donald's senior year vs. 6 in three years for Carter).

Final per-season total for Carter: 6.2 TFL, 2 Sacks.
Final per-season total for Donald: 16.5 TFL, 7.4 Sacks.

I know the SEC's much better than the ACC obviously, but can that explain that massive discrepancy?  I'd think Donald was the focal point of the defense too in a way that you couldn't really do with Carter given how much talent Alabama Georgia has.

Carter played for Georgia, so Alabama's talent shouldn't matter much.

LOL, I told you upfront I didn't follow this that closely.

Yes, Georgia. Those two programs might as well be the same to me.

I was even looking at his stats page when I typed it.  SMDH.

A more accurate comp for Carter is probably Warren Sapp. Size and Stylistically anyway.

Same question then, I guess.  Why isn't the production comparable?

Sapp had 3x as many sacks as Carter.  Can't find TFL stats for Sapp in college but I think it's safe to guess they were similar.

Why doesn't Carter produce like all the guys he gets compared to?  What's the 'thing' that makes him such a good prospect, but not produce like one in college?

Couldn’t say for sure. I don’t watch college either. But I’ve done some homework this year because it’s not every year the Bears have (had) the 1st pick. One of the red flags on Carter is that he takes plays off.

For sure.

I was just surprised - I watched a bit of the CFP and mostly didn't even notice he was on the field, but I knew he was considered an elite prospect so I looked up his numbers.  He has not produced like an elite prospect, and I don't get where the disconnect is there.

To be clear, I am not remotely qualified to make that distinction, which is why I asked.

And judging by the shape he was in on his pro day, he not only takes plays off, but apparently days off. At a time…

Yeah Carter IS a generational talent at DT, but big question marks on what Tempo stated above. IF (and a big IF) a coaching staff can get and keep him motivated, then he has all the potential in the world. Think Shawn Kemp in the NBA. He was fit and crazy in shape, but then he ballooned up to like 500lbs when not playing. I would definitely take the risk/reward on Carter when picking at 9. As far as production, he doesn’t necessarily make the plays, but sets up others based on being double/triple-teamed by the OL. He is someone the offense schemes around and that in turn opens up others for opportunities to get the credit and numbers they normally wouldn’t get. The experts see this and give him the credit and recognition he deserves based on this. Now, can he stay focused and do that every play?! That’s the disconnect…
Because FOX News told me so…

Alabama's talent on the O line would matter, though.
