Weber nearly lost to ISU because Marcus Arnold played like an All American. Arnold transferred to UI and was ...

Was watching at my favorite watering hole...(first half), crying in my beer....ILLINI, let the Loosiers come in and punk them.

Epps/Harris tried but are freshman against a dominant one and got owned.
Dain/Hawkins/Mayer had no answer for Indiana frontcourt
Rebounding only applies to the next game, as in we need too badly...LOL

This team continues to put itself in really bad game situations, and tries to recover. It is past being a trend...BU should of had every play at the beginning of the game attacking the hoop....foul trouble the bigs, ILL would have won.

Anyway, back to the watering hole today to lament the loss and drink more beers!

Biggest problem with the offense is lack of a PG. Harris and Epps are shooting guards. Fucking hate when the offense runs through Hawkins at the top of the key when he’s not good at making decisions and/or passing. Guess that’s why they brought in the Wop.

I’ll never understand Hawkins at the top of the key initiating offense. He makes some of the most dumb decisions and passes I’ve ever seen at the college level. Just bone-headed and flat out dumb! And every time he gets the ball he does that stupid head fake (that fools no one).

Hawkins’ failure to make the expected performance jump has been one of biggest issues with this unit. Yeah he’s a tall guy that can dribble and occasionally make a flurry of 3s. That’s about it though. Yeah the head fake at the top of the key and then the hesitant passes where he fakes a pass then ends up making the exact pass he faked just allows the defender more time to get there and make a play on the ball or body up the guy catching it and not give him any room or a step to make a dribble drive. I see the potential in what they’re trying to do, he just can’t do it at the level he’s being asked to do it. Melendez is another one oozing with potential that just hasn’t made the expected progress. Mayer really isn’t any better than he’s ever been. The freshmen have hit the wall…Indiana’s are clearly better right now. The only guy who made a significant improvement to his game year over year is Shannon. That’s not what we were counting on coming into the season.

I was skeptical of Clark all along so that’s about the only other things that’s not disappointing about this team. Which is super depressing.

This result shows why it's futile to read too much into winning against declining powerhouse MSU or pwning Minnesota in the second half.

When you can't guard or run an offense or make FTs, you're not going to beat many decent teams.

I bet the home NIT game against Drake will be a good one to watch, though.
