Apparently, Miller was an hour late picking Miles up. He got the text from Miles when he was driving. The gun was under clothes in the back seat.
Did Miller even know the whereabouts of the gun ?

Apparently he found out where it was since he allegedly delivered the gun to Miles.

Attorneys and school are already on record as stating that he did not know either it was to be used or used in a crime. This is why and the fact he didn't actually handle the weapon that no charges will come out of this. Even if they did, Class A Misdemeanor would be the extent and even that is a stretch for unlawful possession.

My guess is he gets drafted Top 5 and life goes on except for that family of the deceased...it is sad to say the least, but Texas law has no ground.

It was Miles gun.  He was simply returning someone else’s property.

It doesn’t matter what intent Miles had.  He owned it.  It was his property to do whatever he wanted with it.
