Have they tried meditation?
Which they? What meditation? Yoga? Concentration? Mindfulness? Compassion?
Maybe they should try sending thoughts and prayers?
This prosecutor sounds intelligent enough. It's hard to believe he actually thinks the adversarial system -- or corrupt bail system -- was working. Innocent defendants really did sit in a corrupt jail awaiting trial because they couldn't afford bail and had inadequate defense.
Also, whether he likes it or not, when the police break the law, they should be prosecuted.
He seems to actually believe it's okay for cops and prosecutors to ignore our rights; it's up to us to defend them. Guys like him are part of the problem. Good riddance.
One thing he said resonated, there needs to be alternatives.
Defunding police does not work if those funds aren't diverted to effective social services.
