They had hundreds of rooms available at the hotels out there at the same time so that's where they sent them. They didn't have them in Chicago proper due to a convention and Riot Fest, it appears. The same thing apparently happened with Afghans who showed up here when Sleepy Joe bungled that, yet the Burr Ridge mayor didn't complain, publicly,  then.

I don't think he got the heads up on the Afghans either. I agree that he should have received notice either way.

I wondered the same thing re how they wound up in FL. They didn't go to FL. DeSantis' people went to TX, found them after they were released, and then told them they were going to Boston to work so as to  convince them to get on the plane (after signing a waiver, of course)..

The ultimate irony in this, is that the New Yorkers and celebrity types who populate the island during the summer are no longer there. All that is left to try and help are the 17-20,000 retirees, artists, small seasonal business types, fishermen, a limited number of first responders, school teachers, mechanics, people who work at the post office, small supermarkets, etc.  Doubt they get much help from the local native tribe.

Nobody gives a rat's ass about the small border towns that see more than 50 migrants every day, day in and day out, month in and month out.
Did they penalize the border agents yet who were accused of whipping migrants ?
Where was the outrage when more migrants died in 1 trailer in San Antonio than showed up in an air conditioned plane at Martha's Vineyard ?
