Gotta love Utah.
Groceries can sell beer, 7 days a week, but limited to 5% alcohol by volume.
Higher levels of alcohol or anything that isn't beer can only be sold in State run liquor stores. They are open from 11 AM - 7 PM Mon-Sat. The stores are super weird.
The beer isn't in a refrigerator, because you know, then people would drink the beer right as they leave the store. It looks like a 1970's office building, with very indistinct signage, no ads on the walls, etc.. They carded me - I'm 52 - and I said "guess I look younger with the mask" and they said "we card everyone, no exceptions"
Anyway, I didn't really think about it but I was there at 11 AM on Monday because I had been at the Grocery store. The place was PACKED - the long wait was over.
Anyway, why does this go in this thread?
The best part of that trip was an old lady creakily pushing her grocery card down the ramp - trump style - with like 4 bottles of vodka at 11 AM. She saw me - I'm wearing a BIDEN mask and she says "I LOVE YOUR MASK!!!" I said "I love your taste in vodka!"
