A case was made for self defense in the moment. I still think shooting a 5'-4" unarmed man 4 times with an assault was unnecessary.

That said, nothing about any of this indicates it was a good idea for a 17 year old to strap on an AR-15 and go  play vigilante.

Kyle Rittenhouse may be not guilty, but he is not a hero either.

Good idea was not on trial. The same argument can be used for others.
The heroes are the jurors for following the evidence.

It’s abundantly clear who has looked at the actual case versus those that have picked sides based on politics.

It should be acceptable to believe that he shouldn’t have been there with that kind of armament and also be able to acknowledge that he acted in self defense when shit hit the fan.

I hate to agree with this, but I sort of have to. The fuckwad shouldn’t have been there, though. And I don’t know what kind of fucked up society let’s a 17 year old run around a protest with an AR-15. Just fucked up all the way around.
