The Squad lost. They still have influence, but who do think will be leading the Congressional Progressive Caucus in the next round of high-level negotiations on the social safety net bill? It’s pretty clear that Jayapal came out more powerful than AOC.
And there should be no surprise that BBB received some Republican support. Though it was ugly, Nancy still knows how to count.
Also, I’m so old that I remember when infrastructure bills were always a huge bipartisan affair, that is until the GOP leaders lost all interest in a functioning government. Everybody could “smell the meat a cookin’” from miles and miles away.
