The thread of bad analogies.
"In Illinois, odometer disclosure requirements are governed by federal and state laws. The Illinois Vehicle Code mandates that sellers provide a written disclosure of a vehicle’s mileage at the time of sale. This applies to vehicles under 16,000 pounds and less than 10 years old, in alignment with federal guidelines. The disclosure must be included on the title or a secure power of attorney form to prevent tampering and ensure authenticity."
A signed odometer statement to sell a 2016 Kia Rondo ? You betcha, it's required.
A zeroed out tabulator tape, with 3 required signatures, at the opening of voting for POTUS and state representatives ? Not important. Don't ask questions.
A tabulator tape at the end of voting for POTUS and state representatives with 3 required signatures ? Not important. Don't ask questions.

Questions were asked, and answered.
An unsigned odometer statement is generally a mistake by both the seller and buyer. It is usually easily corrected.
The unsigned tabulator tapes were mistakes by mostly volunteer poll workers. The voters did nothing wrong. Investigations apparently turned up no evidence of fraud. Multiple recounts confirmed the original count.
