I'm seeing some pages referring to this - suffice to say it's so absurd on its face that nobody took it at face value.
I can't recall what we did for Thanksgiving that year, but we were back in school in person, having people over, etc...
We moved back to MV in October, and would have done so sooner but I was in no hurry to start paying rent again.
What a wild time to look back upon. Feels like everyone in CA looked at guidelines elsewhere and decided that even minimal guidelines were being rejected in favor of licking doorknobs, and everyone outside CA looked at anything coming from the State of CA and figuring everyone was not only following them to the letter, but exceeding them times ten.
A lot of what we did ended up being lifelong habits that I wish I had adopted sooner. We meal plan a lot better, and go to the grocery store less often, and cook at home more. When we do go out to eat, we always get an outside table. Because when you live in a place with good weather, it's simply more enjoyable. Every restaurant of the 30 on our street has 10 or so outdoor tables. Oh, but what if it's raining? We don't eat out. QED. And it rarely rains. Not everyone likes that, but I do, so that's what we do.
Also - I go to the office maybe once a month. It's awesome. But I have heard that this is bad for corporations and companies that allow this sort of flexibility are doomed to fail, which explains our recent performance.
