It would have been tough if not impossible for anyone to have seen that level of psychotic violence coming and/or stopped it in the moment, but holy shit maybe do something.
This kind of footage that gets posted on X (that mainstream news thankfully leaves out) is horrifying Clockwork Orange style stuff.
The other day it randomly showed me a video of some dudes viciously head stomping a kid until he started having a seizure. No one does a damn thing about it and then they run off.
I now know there is plenty more like it because unfortunately the algorithm on X is very aggressive and assumes that because I saw this one while I was there looking at Illini sports stuff that I want to see dozens of them.
There was another one where an older guy gets jumped by two younger guys outside an urban restaurant, the people watching and filming it from inside seem to be amused by it all until the victim manages to pull a concealed firearm out and defend himself.
It’s like being behind the camera makes the violence less real or something, until they realize they might catch a stray bullet.
