I suppose that this should go in the What is wrong with the Right because Cheney, lol, is a Republican. 😂

"March 8, 2024
WASHINGTON - Today, Committee on House Administration's Subcommittee on Oversight Chairman Barry Loudermilk (GA-11) released a transcribed interview the January 6 Select Committee conducted with President Trump's former White House Deputy Chief of Staff Anthony Ornato, which shows President Donald Trump pushed for 10,000 National Guard troops to protect the nation’s capital.

The interview also shows White House frustration with slow deployment of assistance. The Select Committee conducted this interview in January of 2022, but never released it."

https://cha.house.gov/press-releases?id=05CC8BC4-AC1D-4D16-90C5-957D52B3674C

You can click on the link in the article to read the interview. The first 77 pages cover informational issues regarding individual responsibilities, chain of command, procedures etc.

Page 78 and on cover the parts of the interview that, apparently, Cheney didn't want you or anyone else to know about.
But that info is available now. Lol.

Talking about the bathrooms at corporate is far more scintillating.

No Democrat Senators supported Mark Hagerty's (R) proposed amendment to the Ukraine funding bill, I mean the Immigration bill  ;D,  to prevent the dilution of the influence of  U.S. citizens on Congressional representation and the Electoral College.

Sounds like they preferred the deal negotiated by Lankford, Sinema and Murphy.

Tony Ornato? Name rings a bell.

Oh yeah, Cassidy Hutchinson.

I can't find anything about the Federalist story. Came across this:

https://twitter.com/Alyssafarah/status/1542247899383402498?t=aWsX0iKu_C5UHZcGzWMViA&s=19

https://twitter.com/AdamKinzinger/status/1542522020205694976t=XYPkfn9GA38DWcUYNHlqnQ&s=19
From the Ornato interview:
"This requirement applies to questions
13 posed by congressional staff in an interview. Specifically, 18 U.S.C. Section 1001 makes
14 it a crime to make any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statements or
15 representation in the course of a congressional investigation. And that statute applies
16 here today. Do you understand that?
17 A I do."

vs a post on the Twitter by a person on The View, a book by a couple of WaPo reporters and a post on The Twitter that I can't view.

That's a tough choice.  ;D

Under that philosophy, I guess Lankford didn't prefer the deal that Lankford negotiated.

I thought you were talking about the Democratic Senators.   Now you are pivoting to Lankford.  Good move Mn.

I think Lankford still likes the deal, but just accepting the fact that it's dead due to Trump's opposition.

Was Cassidy Hutchinson prosecuted? Ornato's testimony on another topic was contradicted by others.

It's interesting he never brought this up. It contradicts Trump's versions that he talked to either Speaker Nancy Pelosi or Nikki Haley. Now it's the Mayor of DC?

I quit following the National Guard story long ago because the Trump apologists have so many versions.

Just a few days ago I was informed Speaker Pelosi was in charge of security and she not only rejected Trump's offer, she could've requested them herself.

This is the first I heard the DC Mayor was in charge of Capital security.

It seems the story is fluid.

"Fluid" like Senator Britt's "stories" in the State of the Union rebuttal.

Who's going to prosecute Hutchinson ? A DC US Attorney ?
The House Sergeant at arms is under the direction of the Speaker, who would have been the person who tore up Trump's speech.
And by mentioning Mace, I think Trump finally got people to say that Pelosi had the control over security.

It's my understanding that Trump couldn't order the Guard, but he could offer them. He suggested 10,000 and Meadows is who made the offer to Bowser. Bowser only wanted 350 for traffic control. Bowser is in charge of DC security. The Sergeants at Arms and Capitol Police Chief coordinate on Capitol security.
Trump had the same problem wanting to send the Guard to the mostly peaceful 2020 protests in Seattle or Portland.

Other than the Trump/Mace/Pelosi item, the rest have always been the case.

This helps connects the dots

https://www.yahoo.com/news/jan-6-committee-allegedly-suppressed-174304598.html

"The committee, which included seven Democrats and two now-former Republican Congress members, Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, concluded that it found "no evidence" that the Trump administration called for 10,000 National Guard members to Washington, D.C., to protect the Capitol."

"Trump has long claimed that he requested the National Guard but that then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., failed to act on the request.

"a transcript of Ornato’s interview with the committee that details how he allegedly overheard then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows asking D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser to request as much protection for D.C. as she needed."

"Because I think it was the concern of anti and pro groups clashing is what I recall. ,And not anywhere near the Capitol, this was just out on the mall area or at the event; and wanted to know if she needed any more guardsmen," Ornato responded,"

'then-Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Gen. Mark Milley said then-Vice President Mike Pence had called Miller at least two times to request a National Guard presence and that Meadows had allegedly called to "kill the narrative that the Vice President is making all the decisions."
