One could argue how effective Obamacare was, and we could go into the weeds discussing whether it was watered down in order to get votes from the right flank of the Democratic party - but no matter how you slice it - he got a law passed to try to improve healthcare.

Biden's signature legislation was the "Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act" - that's transportation and public safety.

DeSantis signature legislation? The "Don't say Gay bill" and reconstruction of the Board of Directors of New College of Florida - both of which have had the net effect of teacher flight from Florida. Which isn't great for education. Oh, but he did sign a law that said you can teach elementary school if you are a veteran, regardless of any actual education credentials.

What's the basis for this statement Ray?

Gender neutral pronouns may be a priority for some vocal folks on the left.  However, if you visit a state capitol or municipal building, you’ll find the vast majority of lefty-oriented groups lobbying for more environmental protections, mass transit funding, renewable energy development, housing access, LGBT/abortion rights, educational funding, minimum wage, and gun control issues.  And in most cases, they’ll be fighting an uphill battle.

Their notion of tolerance is warped. In general, it means to be adaptable and flexible; the ability to endure difficulty, be patient with things we don't accept, put up with things we disapprove of, forgive things that offend us,  be polite to people we dislike, and so on.

For liberals, it means others have to accept them and those they approve of, but zero tolerance for anyone or anything they don't like.
What is the distinction between "tolerance" and "acceptance" as applied to - let's say - banning a book about Jackie Robinson from the local elementary school shelves?

How about when Texas tells doctors that they can't perform abortions they feel are medically indicated? Is that "tolerant", "accepting", or something else?

If a trans person is stricken from a local ballot because they didn't bother to out themselves as trans to every person who signed their ballot petition, is that intolerant or is that tolerant but not-accepting?

And doesn't the 14th Amendment to some extent require "acceptance", at least legally speaking, rendering this distinction utter bullshit? Who's holding a gun to your head making you gay?

In dealing with the unacceptable, tolerance is the ability to endure,  maintain equanimity, be patient, and pursue a wise course of action.

We obviously don't need to be patient with or tolerate people or things we already find pleasant or acceptable.

At this point in time, conservatives largely do see liberals as a bunch of kooks.

Many conservatives have extremely warped views  that make Fox News look moderate.

How about animal rights activists? I have friends in my real life who believe in animal rights. I think most would consider that a liberal position. They are all urbanites and have no clue what some of their views imply. They seem to think if we are just kind to wolves and cougars; they'll be nice to us.

There was an incident years ago. Some PETA people released some minks from captivity. The freed minks ran across a busy interstate and ....

1/6 was the third time I can remember turning on the TV and thinking I must have misunderstood what I was seeing because it couldn't be possible.  The second time was 9/11. The first was 11/22/1963.
