And herein lies the problem; MN wants to keep the political rhetoric and finger-pointing going indefinitely. This is the sort of thinking that will make it difficult for Republicans and Democrats to come together and reach a compromise on the issues. It’s shortsighted and juvenile.
We all recognize the situation at the southern border is a crisis. I wouldn't be opposed to building new sections of a wall in strategic places.
Bottom line: we should lock up both sides in a room and not let them out until they get a deal done.
Maybe, just maybe, the 'this is all about asylum from political persecution and crime'justifications were not a good starting off point.
There have been, and will always be, valid asylum seekers who should be treated as such.
