I recall a game where Illinois had the sense to run (El) Kameno Bell about 700 times in just such weather. It worked, but it was boring as all hell.

Also, might be pulling from earlier in the thread, but I am trying -- without relying on the Internet -- to recall who Mackovic got the tie against in 1988-89. I feel certain it happened in 1988, but I cannot remember the opponent.

I'm old enough to remember a game, maybe NU ? on a beautiful fall day. Seats in the upper deck, east stands.
Temperature probably upper 40s with a howling wind. The rain in the face was just icing on the cake.

There was one game with a ridiculous howling wind in our face, we had 4th down, and the punt team was all fubar and Mackovic called a time out to get them sorted, instead of letting the clock run to zero and punting with the wind. We got a 20 something yard punt off.
