The parties aren’t static. Old Republicans die off and are replaced by new ex-Democrat Republicans who say that “the Democrats aren’t the same party as they were when I was younger.” Especially once people who benefited from Democratic labor policies have collected their money and retired, and they no longer benefit from those policies.

We’ll see though, maybe the collapse of unions and the damage Trump has done to the Republican image might mean there will be fewer converts down the road this time.

But now we have a pandemic that ILLove97 will point out is mostly hitting the elderly. And other policies that are shortening the life span of the average American, hitting most pointedly in the Trump demographic - old black people already had a shortened life span.

the average age of someone who dies of covid is above the average life expectancy...

if the "other policies" you are referring to is destroying small businesses, the economy and the well being of hundreds of millions of Americans then yeah you would be correct... not to mention the destruction of tons of preventative care normally done in medical facilities
