Yes. Exactly this. It should be the max sentence every time. She couldn’t even say she would protect children. Her rhetoric was more about how to protect the criminal/pedophile.

I watched enough myself.
Her argument was always that Congress, in its legislation, allowed for the leniency; but she wouldn't respond to whether her sentencing was lenient. She would revert to Congress made me do it. Durbin wouldn't let her respond to that question in one instance.
I don't know if Durbin not allowing 48,000 pages of information to the Republicans is factual, but I saw enough.
But if you do the reading, make sure it's an HQ approved source. Lol.

So Congress put in a minimum and maximum not as sentencing guidelines, but as a test for future judges to kick out the ones who don't give the max?

And then why not sentence *every* criminal to the max? For one thing let's get rid of this dumb Illinois "Supervision" for breaking traffic laws. You were speeding, pay up, license revoked.
