Been fun to watch the twisting, ever-changing criticisms of Biden.  Gas is too expensive!  Gas goes down, but that's bad!  There are lines forming at ports!  Biden makes changes to alleviate the pressure, but that's bad!

Must get old being that dishonest so constantly.

Plenty of real things to criticize him for, the constant flailing just cuts your arguments' legs out from under them.

I suppose though, at the end of the day, the "wtf is wrong with the right" thread is the perfect place to put that sort of thing.  They take their cues from bad faith people who are constantly lying to them, and never stop for a second to consider that.  That's a big part of wtf is wrong with the right.

Is it Biden's policies that are driving up the costs or the residue from natural disasters/The COVID?

The price of gas is politically tricky for Biden.

On the one hand, high gas prices are likely necessary/good if one has a strategic goal to transition away from fossil fuels. On the other hand, there is plenty of academic research that shows high gas prices have a negative impact of Presidential popularity.

Biden is sort of boxed in on this issue.

Time to build out the EV charging stations.

if we built 20,000 new gas stations it wouldn't drop the price of gas because more stations doesn't increase the amount of gasoline that exists.

See also: we currently don't have the electric generation capacity to run those chargers

The real tax is that lower income folks cannot afford housing nearer to their jobs due to our awful housing policies, so they use 3-4x as much gas as they otherwise would. A 20% decrease in gas prices is nothing compared to using 80% less to start with

you are right but gas prices are still a drop in the bucket compared to a home, and there's a reason higher cost housing is closer to job centers
