Yes. You shoot to kill. Leave no doubt so that they can’t kill you. Seems like common sense. Your alternative is he runs somewhere to hide and shoots back at you. Don’t allow anybody that opportunity.

He had the potential to hurt or kill others with that knife. Yes. You shoot to kill. The police were called there for a reason.

Edit- hindsight is 20/20. You can say he just had a knife, but at the present time do you actually know for sure?! You willing to risk your life to find out?!

I've seen stories saying there were shots to the arm, abdomen, and another spot.
You don't shoot once hoping that will be enough and the guy won't turn around with his knife and you take your last breath. Ever.

From what I've read : a 911 call about a domestic dispute, car keys and child taken, then the guy gets in a struggle with police, gets tazed twice and grabs a knife.
Police were called to the same residence previously about a sexual assault. The officer responding in Aug wasn't made aware of the previous incident.

They will never get it. It’s plain and simple and they can spin it anyway they want. Hindsight is 20/20. Put them in that situation I can guarantee that do the same thing 9 out of 10 times.

I think most of us "crazy libs" would agree with that set of facts.

But you'd probably have to admit that black people get different treatment from cops. And sure, that treatment evolved (from the perspective of cops) out of lots too many bad interactions with uppity blacks.

And I have no doubt that you got beat up a lot by the black kids in Mattoon.
