The shooter is a 22 year old college drop out with a high IQ that still lives at home. From a good, close knit Mormon family. Used an older single shot bolt action hunting rifle with a scope.

Trump hopes the shooter gets the death penalty

So not only is it very unlikely the shooter was a crazed leftist, there’s a growing beliefs and good chance he killed Kirk because he thought Kirk wasn’t conservative enough.
